VRT in Autostyle
Congrats to the White 350Z in Autostyle...
I just have one question, what did you mean when you stated 'we polished the valves...'
Did you also wax the springs
Two coasts biff

Thank you.
It is a G35 though.
I will give you a ride when and if you come out West. A nice guy from Florida was out last weekend and we took a session at Cal Speedway with him riding shotgun. Good timing for the article as that is the backdrop for the pictures. Those spectator stands are just huge.
Maybe if I win a lottery I will be able to just trailer around the country and drive the wonderful circuits back east, like Watkins Glen, Lime Rock, VIR, Road Atlanta and Sebring. All the super spots we read about all the time but don't get a chance to try unless maybe we do another driver school program. Then it would be bringing the car to you.
But that probably won't happen. Perhaps in a few more months there will be some cars from VRT popping up out there and you can wangle a ride.
In the meantime, I will just keep trying the tracks out here. LVMS in June, then probably stop running the tracks for the summer, put the street wheels on, and start back up with the circuits in the fall. Hopefully try Reno-Fernley and Thunderhill, and get some time at Sears Point Infineon and Laguna Seca once more before the year is out. Maybe one more romp at the big track at Willow Springs.
Cheers.
Ed

I do debate some of the claims, but that's why this forum was created - to discuss and move the VQ world forward.
Man I hate living in Vegas, we get everything later than the rest of the people. We still don't have the current issue of Sport Compact Car with Eagle1's G35 in it. Philthy, do you subscribe to C16 or did you find it on the shelves? I looked the other day and it wasn't on the shelves here yet.

Ed is very good with words and definately one of the smartest gentelmen I have ever met. If you only knew the amount of crap this guy gets done in a day and still remains calm and positive. I would be pulling my hair out trying to keep up with Ed. He deserves every bit of the good publicity.
Cry me a river Eagle1...LOL...you have some of the BEST tracks in the country...hehe. But yeah, if you head down to Atlanta, I am sure we can arrange a track day.

Thanks Sharif. And yes, a run on Road Atlanta would be just awesome. Alas it is not like jumping on your friendly Delta flight with golf clubs to play a round. The equipment is a lot bulkier!!! But I will not give up the dream. A truck, a trailer, a rack of spare wheels and tires, and passes to great track days around the US. The auto equivalent of the old surfing movie, Endless Summer.

Yep, the dyno on my car is from Jim Wolf's dynapak, and he and Clark tuned my car, and many if not all of the VRT built motor TT cars, themselves. They tune cars like a piano tuner works a Steinway...it takes them HOURS as they meticulously fiddle and tweak. It is a labor of love and passion for cars, not business only. And I think in some of the pics and videos that Mike has you can see one or both of them doing their thing on the cars.
Stop for just a moment, if we can, and reflect on the number of VRT cars out there now with the JWT TT kit. It is not a huge number, but the collective number of track days on them is pretty substantial. Many of these cars have more than a dozen days of four and five sessions of 25 minutes each, pushing huge amounts of power, going all out around a race track. And how many motors have failed in the process because of a defective build or a less than perfect tune? Does the number ZERO have any significance?
And how many of our comrades have come from shops with high enthusiasm and a big FI build....only to have it blow up on the ride home on city streets without even being pushed? The threads on the internet forums are rife with those experiences. But not here. The cars are being run, run hard, and run for fun. You drive it there, drive it as fast as you can on the track, and then drive it home. And then the next day to work. Dropping the kids off at school, grabbing some groceries on the way home, taking a trip up the coast to visit grandma the next weekend, and back to the track the week after that. I love this car. A 1:25 at Streets of Willow, a 1:58 at Cal Speedway, sure there are guys younger and faster, but for an old fogie like me....no complaints boys. And yes.....just imagine what a "real" driver could do in that car instead of me. It is mind boggling. I am not sure which impressed Anthony more when he rode shotgun with me.......the car passing the Ferrari and Evo on the high side of the ROVAL at approx 140mph....or the old guy at the wheel not having to adjust his colostomy bag half way through the turn because we were pulling over 1g doing it!
