Great points Eagle1. When it comes to FI I'm still just a wishful thinker on the outside looking in, but I have really been watching VRT and what they do with the JWT kit. I have to say I can't wait to get the money together. I know I can have them do the install and tune with great confidence that I will have a kit that does all I need it too and as safely as possible. It's been good to see the guys at VRT convert the haters one by one.

And I think in some of the pics and videos that Mike has you can see one or both of them doing their thing on the cars.

Stop for just a moment, if we can, and reflect on the number of VRT cars out there now with the JWT TT kit. It is not a huge number, but the collective number of track days on them is pretty substantial. Many of these cars have more than a dozen days of four and five sessions of 25 minutes each, pushing huge amounts of power, going all out around a race track. And how many motors have failed in the process because of a defective build or a less than perfect tune? Does the number ZERO have any significance?

And how many of our comrades have come from shops with high enthusiasm and a big FI build....only to have it blow up on the ride home on city streets without even being pushed? The threads on the internet forums are rife with those experiences. But not here. The cars are being run, run hard, and run for fun. You drive it there, drive it as fast as you can on the track, and then drive it home. And then the next day to work. Dropping the kids off at school, grabbing some groceries on the way home, taking a trip up the coast to visit grandma the next weekend, and back to the track the week after that. I love this car. A 1:25 at Streets of Willow, a 1:58 at Cal Speedway, sure there are guys younger and faster, but for an old fogie like me....no complaints boys. And yes.....just imagine what a "real" driver could do in that car instead of me. It is mind boggling. I am not sure which impressed Anthony more when he rode shotgun with me.......the car passing the Ferrari and Evo on the high side of the ROVAL at approx 140mph....or the old guy at the wheel not having to adjust his colostomy bag half way through the turn because we were pulling over 1g doing it!

Good post, how old are you old man, I am 49....

IIRC, you are an accountant/attorney...right? It's been so long since we've met in person (at least 2 years), so forgive me if goofed. Anyways, my point, is that you must have at least 4-6 weeks of vacation a year. A road trip is sounding better and better.

Now that I am running my own business, I have about zero days of vacation a year. Ah, sometimes I miss the corporate life...but...not very often.

I wouldn't trade it for the world Sharif...Neither would you. We are pleasured enough to get up in the morning and build great cars...

And Race Them as often as possible. I would love to make it the Atlanta for some racing ...

If you set up a few East Coast connections Tony and I will have to fly out to see them.

John Hotchkis was out there for the tail of the dragon, and gave Tony the T-shirt.

I have a few free buck's since I gave up my last concubine..

"RACE" Tires are Dot-R tires; eg. Hoosier R3S03, Kumho Victoracers, Yoko A032R, etc.
"STREET" Tires are non-R compounds; eg. Bridgestone S02's, Falkens, etc.
Generally thought to be 2-4 seconds slower than a good DOT-R Tire.

"- R" denotes a weight-stripped race car

Hey Eagle1, I always enjoy your posts. That last one is tough to read though. If that originally came as a formatted table and all-pretty-like, you can wrap the table with a combination VB HTML tag , and within that use the <PRE> tag in HTML. If this seems too complex, pm me and I'll give you my email; I'll format and post it for you.

Cheers!

Thanks.
Really not too important. They are simply lap times yet are also listed below. Eagle was simply pointing out to Philthy that our VRT cars can run fast lap times with with right driver. My associate at VRT, Scott/Wa2good is a very fast driver and drove Eagle's (Ed's) car for Sports Compact Magazine for the Article currently on the news stands. Here is a link to the same table.

Thanks Again Aquineas

I agree 100% Ed....there is something to be said for the reliability of these cars as well as the performance. Speaking from experience, I had a Greddy TT and blew up an engine on the freeway going 85 to 90. I know the way these cars are driven is to the fullest! I can't wait for the next track day!

I apologize for that mess! I had it all set up in columns, nice and neat, and then when I pushed the submit button it got all compressed. Just go to the link Mike inserted above and you can get all of them. The bottom line is that when you put a REAL driver in the car you get REAL results. I am not bad, but I am not a "competitive" level driver either. When you get over fifty you have to be more acutely aware of your limitations, and the fact that I "used" to be gifted with wonderful coordination and reflexes does not count today...because today I simply am not so fortunate. It goes away. As Lee Trevino said.."The older I get, the better I used to be!"

The driver element of good results is tremendously significant. Certainly top drivers will garner 5 seconds or more per lap over a merely good driver in the same car. On a race track, that is HUGE. Think about it......in twenty laps you will be lapped at least once, and maybe twice. In a single lap with such a driver he/she (tip of the hat to Ms. Patrick today), will be so far ahead as to be not visible to you on virtually any road racing circuit. That is some serious humble pie to eat!

Cheers.
(And kudos to Alonzo at Monaco today!)
