Don't worry too much about the blown engines. It's all about the right tune.
Get yourself an oil spacer kit along with the AAM fuel return system and you should be fine.

Just curious, what tunning do you recommend to make it hold together? And how would the fuel return system be beneficial to the TN single kit? I had not heard this suggested with my car but I am interested in finding out more. By the way I have the very latest Z TN kit installed. I have heard different theories on exhaust- ie- is stock better than aftermarket for the TN single? I have heard different arguments on this. Any input is appreciated.

The Fuel return system is superior to the stock fuel system in many ways, fx. the stock fuel pressure regulator is incapable of holding a constant fuel pressure, and is unable to add fuel pressure under boost.

as far as exhaust goes, I'm no expert at all! but I would go with an aftermarket one, just make sure you get the overboost piping if you go that route.
I guess it's a personal pref.. with the stocker you get a sleeper, and with the aftermarket you get better sound and of course better flow.

an exhaust is the last thing that will give you away with the sleeper effect... the FMIC and the BOV kinda give it away.. aftermarket exhaust don't give any look... anybody can buy an exhaust.. it doesn't give the indication you have a turbo

Keep 6 to 8k on the back burner just in case. You really are never sure regardless of turbo kit when a factory rod is going to let go.

He has a Vortech S/C, so he would probably have different problem than a TN kit.

I was joking

And that aside...any time you put FI on a NA car your going to take that chance of blowing it up.....do a search on blown motors and see if you really want to take it on .

And yet I seen a blown motor in your future.

I'm gonna give you a word of advice.... If you have to ask questions like the one your asking then YOU shouldn't be turbo charging anything. if you really wanna know the truth. There is NO F/I kit currently on the market that doesn't have the potental of blowning your motor up a key-start without proper tuning and even then, it's a risk everytime you start the car. Best advice is to first build up your motor so you wont need to ask silly questions like these. Stop being so F-N cheap with your $30,000+ car.

BTW. When you DO blow your motor. Please don't post a thread asking us why. You'll get laughed at.

Any F/I kit has the potential to pop a motor under the right circumstances. That being said after 30k miles with the Turbonetics kit installed on my car (50k total miles) I have yet to have a single issue. Well I guess I did my clutch finally started slipping after 44k miles on the car. But it was stock and I expected it sooner. Aside from that not a damn thing. And as many on this board or ANYONE in SD can attest I RAIL my car. I mean I un-mercifully pound on it. Its being 1/4 miled, drifted, road coursed, street raced, mag editors have done back to back to back pounding, dyno'd to no end, etc. Never once an issue.

If you haven't seen it yet, check out SGP racing's website.

A very simple built motor is not very expensive compared to the price of the turbo kit and install.

Some people will say you can get away with a "good tune" and stock internals. But there is at least ONE member on these forums who has bent a rod on the dyno before he could even get a tune. (Custom ST kit)

For my money, I would rather be able to do a core exchange sooner rather than have a messed up block that is not exchangeable later if the engine blows up.
