Default 5AT Vortech Question (shifting)

I am about to embark on my FI path... I chose to go with the Vortech / 3.12 pulley... I have a 5AT and I have been told and have read that w/ the Vortech you have to shift in MM because the auto tranny does not shift well with the Vortech...

Can anyone let me know what thier expeirences are with this?

Also is there a shift light mod for the auto?... Going from 2-3 I hit the rev limiter in MM more than I would like to, my car goes thru 2nd very fast, or I am to pre occupied on the road and just space the frickn thing...

thanks,

Get a VB upgrade and get your rev limiter moved up so you don't hit the fuel cut.

Valve Body http://www.forgedinternals.com/store...cat=261&page=1
Rev can be done by Technosquare or by the utec I think.

For a Vortech kit at roughly 400whp, the VB will be a perfect solution for you. The shifts are incredible fast, and firm.

Thanks guys, I was actually looking at the VB upgrade and it seems like the way to go. what WHP can that take? How long does it take to do the upgrade? My car is in the shop so now would be the time to do it

I was also looking at the Greddy oil catch can, 440 injectors and the Walbro 255 Fuel Pump.

I am still deciding on what guages I want to go with... Is there a stealth alternative to the guages like a computer that could fit in the nav cubby of the "G"?

thanks!

If you go with the forgedperformance VB, the VB would need to be sent to Sharif for the modifcations. Shouldn't take too long after it is received for it to be modified and sent back.

This is what one looks like

Here's a pdf about how to pull it.
https://stillen.com/product_files/453335.pdf

Hope that helps, I have that VB and it shifts with good force when needed and is civil in normal situations.

No problem, the components Stillen says to remove I didn't remove when I sent it to Sharif. I think Stillen has a core exchange deal with however mods there VBs. Sharifs set up will modify yours so you know what you get in return is yours.

Good luck.

Yes, the VB upgrade from Forged Performance is great. Just had mine done and the shifts are fast and firm; tires chirping through 3rd gear. Highly recommend this for your situation.
