I am have done long trips on my FI system on a stock block.. DC->FL->DC->NH->DC->NC->DC. I was running between stock boost and sometimes my 7.5 PSI maps for these trips.
I will be doing something similar to what you have in a week.
I have a new engine being built and will put some test miles on it before taking it across country and back.. DC->Vegas->DC. I hope to be able to get a few 100 miles of break in, before taking the long trip, but I guess we shall see.
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated by myself too.

I drove my car with a brand new long block from SGP in Houston, TX to Miami, FL. The only problem I encountered was that I started running lean when I went from 40 degree Houston weather to 90 FL weather. Car still ran fine, but would hesitate at certain loads. I was using the EU at that time.
i have made some trips to san diego and l.a. with no probs. though when i stopped for gas at the highest altitude in the mountain range, my car was too rich to start back up, lol. i always carry the laptop on trips incase i need to make an adjustment. plugged in the comp, made a change, fired right up and on my way again.
Long freeway cruising is actually very gentle on the motor, so I wouldnt have any worries at all. I have made several 400 mile trips without any issues whatsoever. I even got about 22mpg.
And long as everything is buttoned up, tuned , and leak free...go for it!

Well up do date (knock on wood) I take my car to the track which is about 1:20 away from my house ( this is me going 80 miles plus all the time around 3.2 rpm all the way. Then I get their and I start beating the crap out of my car from 6 to like 11 at night then go drive home. And nothing till now ( knock on wood again). So if you have everything done right go for it but yes check that oil and coolant once a day when car is stopped and your going to sleep in the motel.
