Default Project SWAP !!!

ok guys, as most of you know i bought alans (djniknala, theking) car. a fully built darton sleeved, greddy tt, open dump tubes, arias 9 to 1 extreme duty pistons, ported heads, 1mm larger valves, JWT cams, etc etc etc.....

and as most of you know, i drive a 2800 pound daily driven 350Z that was in need of more power.

i decided a couple weeks ago to just swap the motors and last night i started the whole process. i was working by myself last night cause everyone was busy, i am just using hand tools and a cherry picker. i got alans motor out in about 4 and a half hours, all by myself and its my first VQ that i have ever pulled out. here are some pics, i will be pulling the Zs motor out on sat and will be putting in the built motor on sunday....

like to thank a few people (ZUL8R, Done12Many, Beddow) for helping out a bit, whether it be on the phone or actual help today. i will keep it updated, and here are some pics!!!

fun fun fun...

Looks like a ton of fun. No air tools? Gonna have some strong forearms when this is all said and done. Good Luck, only thing I can think off is the Greddy piping different from coupe to Z?

Gotcha I guess my question shoulda been why buy the whole car when you could just buy a motor from a junk yard and do the work on that. Again I'm just curious. Congrats on making bold moves.

well, i remember alan saying that you told him to do that, it idles pretty well, the cams make it shake a bit, but i love it!!

the reason i bought the car is this, my friend decided that he wanted to go into the army and go to flight school. i wanted to buy the car really bad but he wanted a lot for it cause he had A LOT invested. it got closer to time to leave and i offered him a fair amount and he took it. i dont believe in riding around in other peoples hooked up cars so i figured i would part it out, and keep the TT and motor, so far so good!!!

thanks guys, i have to work all day today, but right when i get home its phase two!! hehehe

the TT motor was crammed in there, the stock motor looks like a 4 cylinder in there without all the extra turbo parts on it. it will come out much easier, i am thinking 4 hours, start to outta the car hopefully with some help this time. its funny how people always are "busy" when you get into this kinda stuff.... thanks though matt and see ya sunday...

thanks guys, not sure about the nitrous, i dont think i am going to have traction in the first place. i am thinking about throwing a mustang cobra rear end on it so i can still use rims with the same bolt pattern, i need to get some measurements here really soon...
