I need to go to the Library (oh I said that dreaded word) and buy some $100 car that doesn't run worth a **** and teach myself before I get into the FI world so I'm not completely dumbfounded or taken advantage of if a problem occurs I'm thinkin'. Wiring, bodywork and painting I can do, but when I pop the hood i'm all...yea
looks like i will be switching the wiring harnesses tomorrow off both motors, i thought it would work better than it did but a few important things arent working...
it sucks but it has to be done...
as of right now, the fuel pump isnt working, as well as the AC, right side window, and few other weird things.
i will let you know tomorrow how it works out...

no the ecus, have key codes for each car, i wish i could switch them.
but it still wouldnt help my wiring problems, man, i hate electrical problems.
these engine harnesses are going to be a ***** to change, hopefully i can find a big plug somewhere on the engine, that splits off and not have to change everything like the coils plugs and the injectors plugs, i believe both of those two unplug into little harnesses.
hopefully i will find a lot of little sub harnesses that can uplug, that would save me a lot of time, i know the starter bolt is going to be the hardest thing to get to with the turbo right there in the way

Ok, I'm a wuss and a serious advocate of having a pro do your work, but this is by far the most interesting thread I've ever read on doing your own work...
I'll say it: you're my idol...
I wish I had the ballz to take on a project of this magnitude. Again, I'm simply in awe.

woo hoo i swapped the wiring harnesses and it started right up!!!!!!
what a relief!!!
havent driven it anywhere yet, there is a small coolant leak, some oil smoking a bit off the manifolds (no big deal), and a couple electrical things arent working, the tach and the coolant temp gauge..

thanks guys, i got the electrical problem figured out, it was just a 10 amp little fuse causing the tach and coolant gauge not to work.
now i just need to figure out why the battery light is showing that it is charging almost 18 volts...
