Sounds like a smart move. That engine isnt cheap and i bet the G will be close to same value with stock motor back in it. Props on the dice roll.

Subscribing so I can see the outcome, and mad props on being able to do your own work. I wish I knew enough about cars to do my own work.

thanks guys, i am a firm believer in just doing stuff yourself. its not really as hard as people make it out to be, just keep a log of what you do and a really good list of parts. then just reverse it.... hehehe its that easy

i will let you know in a couple days if i still feel the same way!!

ps detroit lockers are not expensive at all. and good to 1000 hp..!!!
this car will pretty much be a street/drag car. i love road racing but i think it willl be out of the question. probably wont even put on the front sway on the re install...

i will update pics and more info tomorrow, i am pulling the motor out of the Z in the mornin!!

we actually saw a potential problem with the Z wiring harness, it had a whole plug that was all grounds inside the car that was not on the G

we will see if it works...

Default Update!!!!

well guys, i really wish it would stop raining, matt and i had the Z apart and motor out in just a few hours, then actually swapped all the fuel stuff and put the motor back in the G in about an hour. then of course it rained all day AGAIN!! maybe later tonight or possibly tomorrow i will have the motor into the Z and ready to put both cars back together. cant wait to get everything all done. i swear it has rained almost everyday since i started late last week!!

these are the AC brackets, they are different on the Z and G and we had to take off a coolant line that attaches to it and the bracket and swap the whole setup. not a big deal just had to figure it out cause the compressors are totally different on the two cars.....

yeah it has been raining everyday for four or five days, WTF. sometimes it will just rain for hours, nothing serious just a light drizzle but too much to work in.

today has had thunder and lightning and stuff. whatever. hopefully i will get the G running tomorrow or wednesday and will get the motor all in the Z in the morning, weather permitting!!
