Default What is the best material for hot side piping?

I have noticed that generally companies use 304 stainless steel to make things such as tubular turbo headers and hot piping. From what I know, this is because it has good expansion/contraction properties which help it resist cracking over time.

However, I am wondering if a material such as 316 or 321 may be better and would just be more costly. Any input would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Speed Force Racing offers 304SS manifolds standard, and 321SS as a 750$ upgrade.

321SS would be better but costs more. Inconel would be the best and is also crazy exspensive and hard to work with.

+1 crazy expensive might be an understatement, and yes, very hard to work with

So 321 tops the list for SS material then?
