interesting idea....

everyone does keep saying that it will fit under the current stillen hoods... so maybe they did something like that to make it shorter, but i cant imagine getting it low enough to go under the stock hood... they would need it to be like 6 inches shorter... or stick it somewhere else, but i doubt they would do that.

Maybe it will be wider like the Kenny Bell? The current one is kinda narrow.

That's what the guys in Dreamworkes attempted plus the throttle body relocation. And their blower idea died b/c it ended up being way too expensive to produce and not able to compete with the TT kits in terms of value.
My guess at least.

I have a video from stillen where they said that they did design one that fit under the stock hood on the 350Z but did not have the IC and needed new injectors which was too expensive. The height of the current one allows for the 7th injector to properly mix the A/F before it goes in.

Vortech should come out with a smaller blower that spools up faster and fill in that gap in the market for people that only want ~375whp but less lag than the current kit.

What are you talking about?

Is that even possible with a CF SC? Don't forget that by its nature, a CF SC makes peak boost at redline. Not early in the rev range. The only way I can think of to do something like that would be with a wastegate-like device bleeding boost at high rpms... and that would be a serious waste of power. Not to mention inefficient and creating VERY hot charge air temps.

Yes it's very possible, you just gave one way to do it. The Stillen also makes peak boost at redline. It does not need to make peak boost early in the rev range to make power earlier, it just needs to spool up faster. A smaller blower would do exactly that.

superchargers are belt driven... they are spooled by the belts... how do you expect one to "spool faster"? If you're talking about smaller pullies... then that can already be done...

If anyone cares I started this same thread on G35driver and there is some good info on there too.

I just sent Sam an email today asking a lot of questions about it and offering to be the G sedan mule if they decide to make it.

I like the hood on my ZR. I especially like it when some sedan starts pulling on me, looks over, sees the hood and backs off

I on the other hand like it when some coupe pulls up next to me, looks over, sees the hood and backs off.

they should do teh do luck style hood. Its crower style but w/ a curve instead of solid geometric shapes. The do luck hood is saucy.

I wish they would do something like that... perhaps with a vent or two near the s/c to keep the temps down.

That would be great!

No one ever wants to race me around here. My car is fast but not that fast. I know if I could ever run into some of the TT/ST 350's around here they will race me. I may not like the result but I would still like to see how close I can stay.

Interesting. I saw the new D Sport today, and they have a Stage 3 Stillen putting out just shy of 330 whp @ 7psi. Said they have tested it at 8-9 psi (probably the stage 4). But Stillen said the reason why they won't go further is because at 380 whp you need to replace the rods, and other internal stuff. At least that was what was in the story.
