Vortech Installed! A couple issues
Well its finally in! Its been a b!tch of a week with this heat wave trying to work on it each night. Lastnight G (Zincognito) and I finished up the Vortech. Still need to install the NGK plugs. I have to let it crank for about 2 sec before it catches, I think that my stock plugs arent up to the task, Im putting in the NGK tomorrow. Is that why it takes a couple secs? When we started it for the first time the SES light was on and the TCS Off/SLIP lights stayed on as well. I took it around the block and brought it up to about 3K rpm and it didnt seem like it was in "limp mode" I borrowed my buddies Actron CP9135 OBDII reader and I had P0345 or PO345, which is Cam Position Sensor A-Bank 2 circuit malfunction, but it had 4 codes and they all were the same!! What does that mean? Is it safe to drive home? It drove around fine. Ive been searching around and it seems this is a weak point. Ill have to look up a shielded sensor wire. I cleared the codes and all the lights went out, back to normal. Ill be getting it tuned this weekend, and Ill post up the details. I said Id take hella pics but I was so spent this week I only took 3

Stupid question , but did you hook up the battery at any point while doing the wiring of the ss box or what ever EMU you are using ? Have you tried to boost it yet ? Have the CEL's come back ?

Nope, didnt connect it at all the whole week until all the wiring was done. Havent tried to boost it yet, just took it up to see if it would limp, I started it up and let it run for a while after I cleared them and then restarted and they were gone.

It's really easy to make a mistake on the wiring of the harness--not just miswiring, but a bad solder joint. This is the most likely location of your problem. Don't bother with shielded cables--unnecessary.

Ok, now I was finishing up lastnight and had something wierd happen. I took off the battery - to do the spark plugs and the code came back. Next I cleared code, car wouldnt start. Disconnected - battery for a min or two and car started with no code!! Wtf? I will dig down into those wires again today. Now that you mention a bad solder joint, that would make for inconsistencies like this. Thanks for that suggestion!

I also used the Autosport harness and initially read the diagram for the main harness "backwards". It's easy to make this error. I had to check and recheck my work 2 or 3 times and rewired several connections.
