Default Happy with my Vortech

Your guys are right. The Vortech entirely changes the cars personality. The surge you get at 4,000rpm is hard to describe. I had a Ferrari 355, and my Z with the Vortech runs circles around it, and without all the maintenance and reliability problems. I got 390whp on the dyno. I'm glad I got the oil cooler and a larger radiator because he heat generation is really high. The only problem is my gas mileage sucks because I can't resist winding it out constantly.

I used some of the money my Dad left me when he passed away to do the mods. I think he's up there smiling every time I get on the gas!

What radiator did you get to work with the Vortech? I tried and tried and even cut the crap outta stuff. Didn't fit. Had to go back to stock.

I am running the stock Vortech kit w/Nismo exhaust+stock cats. To be honest I cant hear the damn exhaust anymore! Not until I get up to about 4K does it start to get noticable. Other times the S/C drowns it out I love how it sounds, but I love the S/C even more! Ive had it on for 3 days now and am loving it!

I've noticed that I'm "redlining" a lot lately got to get use to the new power...It seem that B-4 the car would wind up after 4000rpm...now it just hits from 4000 to redline like wow....just got to get use to it like I said..

Default Larger Radiator

Hey ZU L8R:

I had my Vortech professionally installed because I'm not an acceptable mechanic. I'm glad I had it done professionally, because a lot of modifications had to be made to fit in an oil cooler and larger radiator. I don't have my invoice here at work, but I had the work done at Z Car Gargage in San Jose. Their phone number is 408 452-0350. The radiator holds one quart more water, and they changed the thermostat to come on earlier as well. The oil cooler really helps as well. My oil temperature never goes above 250 degrees even when the car is driven hard.

I am using the Koyo with my Vortech. They make two different sizes. The larger will require substantial cutting of the fan shroud or the use of aftermarket fans. The smaller one fits perfect without making any compromises with the stock fans.

I hope you get it fixed. How many miles did you have on it before the install? Also, I was wondering if the CJM Fuel Return is necessary. I was planning on upgrading the fuel system to exactly what you have minus the fuel return. Thanks.

you might as well go to nissan and try to get them to replace the tranny. worst they can do is say no. but for all you know they will go ahead and replace it for you. if you have some free time, why not see what they say? just try and find a mod friendly dealership around you. if you can take a day off you can try going to performance nissan of palm beach. they are mod friendly and even install fi for customers, so they might be more willing to swap your tranny under warranty.

If you go with the "Turnner Kit" yes it does not come with the complete set up as the kit...36,575 miles on her B4 I made the move to FI....

i was planning on going to zfest, but I don't want to miss the UF - LSU game, so i'm not.

that is the website for palm beach performance. the guy you should talk to is Mike Wade. They also sponsor the SFZCC, so if there is any dealership around FL that will replace your tranny even though you are fi, it is them.

Welcome to the Vortech family. I bet your looking for reasons to jump in the car.

I heard that you may want to run your stock cats because the s/c requires some backpreasure. Can anybody clarify this with us.
