Vortech Pulley (anyone try?)
you can always send your blower back to vortech and have them put the S-trim wheel in it. It requires no machining to the blower case. It should be a drop in. I had it done on a V1- SC trim.
If you look at the specs, the s-trim and the sc-trim are very similar.....on paper. It was only a couple hundred dollars to do the swap, but the s-trim kicks in much sooner (builds boost) than the sc-trim!!!

hmm i dunno, the S trim has 72% Adiabatic Efficiency compared to 75% that the stock SC has, and it has less headroom for rotating at higher rpms and is also noisier.
So i'm thinking if it does spool up faster, it isn't as good on the top end, and will be noisier, or is that wrong?

Vortech put a S-trim in mine, it does build more boost at a lower engine rpm vs. the SQ or whatever the hell comes in the blower.
I keep tentsion on the surp, It doesn't slip all the way to 7200 rpms @ 11psi.
I like the idea of trying the 2.62" that would be overspining the blower quite a bit tho, Bills right, this would slip @ redline......COG DRIVE the blower this would take a lot of work.
Sentry65, was it you I saw that added another pulley to cut down on belt slip?

Any one else try Tim's fix?

yeah my car has that extra idler pulley to add some extra tension right on the main SC pulley. So far it's worked pretty well.
...I've actually been considering trying the 2.62 pulley, but I need to nail down my new EMS, and fuel pressure issue and tune with the 2.87 to make sure everything looks fine first

I like how you talking, 2.62. I think there might be one in my near future also.
I'll just have a 2.62" Utec map built, The belt slip might be more of an issue for me, I like that extra pulley you have!
hey kevinapex, how different was the S-trim blower compared to the stock one with how soon it spools up? I take it that it spools up something like a few hundred rpms earlier. Notice any change in upper end power?
i'm not convinced it'll slip on my setup. rabbid who does have the 2.62 pulley says his does not slip and I don't think he has the extra idler pulley that I have.
It's not like the 2.62 pulley costs much money and isn't the biggest deal to put on.
The T-trim is a better idea and costs a lot more money than just a pulley, but probably runs cooler, less slippage etc. Even with the 3.33 pulley it probably runs the same boost as the 2.62 pulley on the regular blower
I figure that my stock blower is fairly new, might as well get some more use out of it before trading it in on a T-trim
I might not even do the 2.62 pulley. I'm just considering it depending on how things go during the next couple months

I need to pay more attention to exactly where it starts gaining boost but, once you dig your foot into it grabs. Before even at 100% throttle it had lag before it would start gaining pressure.
Pulls hard all the way to the rev limit, faster than the stock Vortech impeller.

boy...around 1000.00 for a T-Trim, a gain of 2-3 psi. max, and still worrying about belt slip?!!!
I don't think I'm up for that!
Not even un happy with present set up, but always sniffing around.
