I saw an elise going for 30k w/ less than 2k miles on the clock. It was an 05 as well. Why not get the exige? It has way more sex appeal :-P

So I believe I have officially made my decision...to keep the Z. I think I just got the Elise bug for a couple of weeks and would still love to have one about equal to the Z. But, after much thinking and talking myself in and out of it, I realized that I have put to much time and effort into the Z to quit now. Also, just the hassle of trying to find a buyer who will pay the right amount and then turning around and finding the seller of a new car for the right amount was going to be a ***** and just isn't worth it.

I think I'm done with my motor for now though...just gotta look into some more suspension stuff. Thanks for all the input guys, it would have been really tough leaving this community.

EDIT: wow you can't say b*tch

Nope. You made the right choice. You will never modify that Elise enough to reach the raw power potential of your Z. I think you're doing the right thing by focusing on suspension, balance, and weight reduction. Glad to see you're staying.

Good to see your keeping her. You have a good reliable set up. I just bought a new 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser (to pick up parts for the Z LOL) I was stuck with that car for the last two weeks (in Cali) and i just could not wait to get home and drive the Z.

i say if you want the Lotus, get it. My dad recently sold it and those things are a beast when the second set of cams hit. Loved that car and i also disagree with the build quality comment. The build quality on our 05 Elise was excellent. The only complaint was the sh*tty audio system but an exhaust system takes care of that problem

Sorry already decided against it...keeping the Z.

The lotus is 190bhp and 1984lbs which is about 10.5lbs per hp. My Z is 550bhp and about 3200lbs which is about 5.8lbs per hp. I can get the car lighter and to handle better...so i'm keeping it. Don't get me wrong, I love the Lotus...I drove it twice (I wasn't jumping into anything) and while it was great, it lacked all torque I had come to love. No 6th gear roll on interstate passing power or anything. If I could have both, believe me, I would. But choosing between the Z and the Elise, I'm sticking with the Z. Now for some lightweigh mods

I would only get the elise for a weekend car. That thing is a tin can.. literally.. which is why it's so light. Yea, it's also small, so the thing handles amazingly. Yet you can't just look at the good things. If you are using the Lotus for a DD, you will regret it. I was watching the C&D on the Lotus and they said it isn't comfortable at all, and they said it themselve's - that it is a tin can. Have you seen the interior on the Lotus? Maybe that's why the Lotus will always feel more sporty than the Z, the Lotus has absolutely no luxury features, as the Z has plenty. Just my $.02, your choice. I would keep the Z and keep on rolling with a built motor.

Disregard my last post, didn't see you were keeping it. Good choice
