What are you looking to have done on your car?

Are you using 5AT or 6MT?

Basically in Performance Motorsports you'll get a choice of Vortech, TN ST and JWT TT (only if you are using a 6MT). I am not positive, but I do believe that they also carry the PE TT. If you have a 5AT they will not touch your tranny as far as strenthening it goes. And they are the only shop that told me that "tuning is overrated" and all the setups that they carry and 100% perfect and safe out of the box. I'd go with MRC if I were you...

I know that MRC installs both, but with PM TN is your only option. As per the warranty, I am not sure. I know that the way stillen's warranty works is that they would cover you for upto 3000 in damages should you blow your motor, but I don't know what is PM's policy.

I am prob leaning towards the tn kit so long as theres no ac problems...alot of people have been havin ac lines melt because the turbo is so close to them and as far as the cel...yea it would bother me.

I gotta do some more research on both kits before i make a decision on the kit or the shop....my goal is 375 whp but more importantly its has to be safe and reliable. Im willing to sacrifice some hp for reliability...its not a daily driver but i still need it drivable. so if anyone has any experience/problems or just things to know about these kits...i would really appreciate it...and i sure as hell don't wanna blow the motor. Thanks for the info guys!

Drive both and see how you like them. In case that you'd want to go past the 375whp in the future (you most likely will), MRC is much more willing to play around with bigger injectors, EMS, tune settings, etc, what PM dismisses as "cutting and pasting".

If you wanna stay safe, i would say stay under 375. there are some on this board that have pushed the envelope and run 450-500whp on the stock block. these are the same guys that can afford to rebuild their motor if it goes. it's never totally safe taking a n/a car and going f/i. staying under 375 with a safe tune and preventative maintenence, you should get some miles out of your car. enjoy.

There is no safe limit. The connecting rods are junk. I blew my motor @ 410RWHP. I hit the stock rev limiter 6600 rpm. SNAP! "Oh Damn..... there goes my motor". The tune was not an issue. After I disasembled the motor there was no sign of detonation.

Russina Roulette my friend.

He should still be informed of the worst case scenario. Even if it is unlikely, he should still know what he's geting into...
