Anybody notice that on the Stillen web site when thay are descrbing the supercharger thay claim, "Quiet Operation, no Whine or Whistle".

Is this true?

There should be some vids lying around the video section, have you checked them out? My Vortech sounds like a damn F-16, and I have the "quiet one"

 

Someone made a post about that about a week ago and I think someone said that may refer to the idling noise levels, otherwise Stillen is said to be the loudest of the kits.

 

you kidding the stillen is louder then all hell. When my girl video tapes me at the track all she has to listen for is the whine and she knows I am coming around the corner. Stillen is talking about idle. At idle the roots supercharger is very quiet. The vortech sounds like you got a bunch of coins in the dryer. Not saying it doesnt work great just that other units are loud at idle.

 

With a stock airbox the whine is not as loud. Normal cone filter it is crazy loud.

 

+1 if you have the stock airbox and exhaust you wont here it unless you listen real close.esp on a g35 where the stock air box has a bunch of resonaters.
