Default UTEC Tuner wire color question??? blue and white wires??

I am posting in this section because not many people view the "tuning" section. at any rate, My TurboXS Tuner wideband has a blue and a white wire coming off the main harness. TurboXS doesn't send any instructions referring to these wires, and the online instructions talk about a red and black wire. I assume that the blue and white wires are the "switched +" and the "ground."

Does anyone know which is which? I already spoke with someone on this foum, and he told me that his wires weren't blue and white.

thanks,

Andrew

I don't have the tuner, but the only blue and white wires I have come from the map switch. What they go to I have no clue. I've seen no mention of them anywhere.

Andrew,

White is ground and blue is 'switched +' I tapped into the EXTRA 12v power NEXT to the glove box. It is KEY ON, so there is only power to it when obviously the key is turned to 'ON'. The wire you tap into I believe is RED with a BLACK stripe.. worked well for me and is the closest/ easiest power I could find.. I bought a pack of wire tappers?? or whatever you call them and when I put the red wire(in your case blue wire) in the wire tap, I had to double it up.. The wire is too small for it to go in there and make a good connection.. Make sure you have some pliers handy and electrical tape.. I took some pics but have yet to post them as I have been busy as hell.. I am at work now so when I get home I will post them up..

That worked!!

BTW, I still can't connect to the Tuner through my laptop. The tuner powers up, counts down, and then displays "gas." I just can't get it to connect!

they are famous for the "extra wires that nobody wil ever use"

for the tunerpro, you have a "+" and a ground, there is another set of wires coming off the harness that are not used for anything...

It might be a little late now but I said I was going to post some pics.. Maybe they will help someone else out in the future..

Here goes..
First pic is just the UTEC with glove box tore apart..

This pic is where I tapped into the extra 12v power supply next to the glove box in the G35..

Last pic is of everything after I finally got power to the Tuner..
