if it starts to burn oil does that mean the seal is starting to go and the blower needs to be rebuild?

i was curious about this too. I was also wondering if you just buy the vortech tuner kit and nothing else what numbers would be expected.

I have a 2004 Touring with just the Vortech kit and one step colder plugs.

After installation I got about 285 rwhp and after Sharif at Forged Performance tuned it I got 316rwhp. This is on a dyno dynamics dyno which reads lower than a dynojet.

I can do 0-60 in 4.9 secs (Escort Gt-2 measured) if you're interested in that number.

I'm very happy with the vortech, apart from the rattle at idle which is very irritating but fortunately I don't let it idle too much.

Wondering how much in total you paid. And what are the mods that really give you HP with a SC.

Vortech kit $5200
Gauges $400 (including A-Pillar and painting A-Pillar to match interior)
Spark Plugs $75
2 cases of beer (to bribe a friend to help with the install) $30.
Tune at Forged Performance $350.

I make that a total of $6055. You can save about $300 on the Vortech Kit at ForgedPerformance.com (and get the polished kit as well) but I didn't know that when I ordered mine from JEGS.

I'm not sure what mods in addition to the SC give you more horsepower, I'm starting to research that now, I hope to find out more at the meet in Georgia next weekend.

I know that getting it tuned after install rather than using the kit as it comes preconfigured was well worth it.

I had a Vortech on for about 1K miles. Nothing but fun! No issues. I made 350whp initially, but scaled back a bit more to be safe, so my final # was 330/300. Sounded like an F-16

What is your elevation? Albuquerque is at 5314 ft. With SC you can tune for it.

I have over 40,000 miles on my 04 350z and around 20,000 miles with the Vortech. I have had no problems up to date with it. All I have is the HKS exhaust and the Vortech.
