Default Alright! Ready to go F/I !!! Final recommendations needed.

Well I'm still torn between the vortech and the TN ST kit. I know, i know i've been reading this forum like a **** trying to gather all the pros and cons so the search has been done.

Well I still want the car as a daily driver though i do plan on having a second car since I store the Z in the winters anyway, but for now daily driveability is important.

Anyway both installs would be on a stock motor and my car doesn't have any mods except a popcharger which will obviously go in the process.

the install seems like it would be without any goodies (gauges and whatnot) so a bare install with the out of the box ECU tune on both.

Are there anything you would recommend i definitely do while installing? I'm leaning more towards the turbo even though it's pricier.

Gauges? exhaust? plenum?

I wanna make sure i do this right, the shop i'll do it at seems reputable and their tech knows his stuff but the sales guy with whom i deal with doesn't seem to know much.

this is such a hard one to respond to,for a dd i would say the vortech.but the tn is one fast ****,the vortech dosent seem to blow any motors but the tn does.it is a tough call,id go for the vortech between the 2,only because in my opinion i see to many blown up tn,st and very few vortech,s.

I'm worried about customer service, also the tech has dones a few TN Z's but never an APS and I'd rather go with something he's comfortable with.

if you like torque, go TN.

IMO the TN is more reliable than vortech with all the gay lil issues vortech owners have been having lately. Plus, it's simply easier to get power out of a turbo.

Get what ever you feel comfortable with and a shop that can do the install the best . We cant make up your mind for you . Dont get a F/I kit installed with out at least a A/F gauge and boost gauge to keep an eye on .

My vote is for the Turbonetics kit obviously. All kits have their merits. If you are interested in making some great mid range torque that carries then the Turbonetics kit is what you want.

I vote for the TN kit. There are tons of guys running that kit and the power output is superior to the vortech.

i think a lot of it has to do with how you drive you car, if you do a lot of starting and stopping, the SC would give you more satisfaction, but if (like me) you spend a lot of time at 200kph+ on the highway... you'll definitely want the turbo...

the TN has far better midrange than the Vortech, which imo makes it easier to drive.

Im gonna put a vote in for TN. Not because I have a TN kit, but because all of the dyno's I have seen on an otherwise stock car have been great-with perfect A/F's. The power is very safe, and the tune is right on. On the flip side Ive seen out of the box Vortechs running WAAYYYYY rich. So if its gonna stay out of the box go TN

Thanks Guys, Alberto I'm wondering, I know you blew up your motor with the TN kit, how much id it cost you to repair and how long was the downtime?

Also anyone else agree on the A/F and boost gauges?

Its not reapired yet so I cant say, but I ran the **** out of my car. I also revved it to 7100rpm's when at the track which is why I think the motor failed. Downtime on something like this will depend on what was damaged, how much $$$ you have, how busy shops are etc etc, too hard to tell. Ive never heard of an otherwise stock TN car blow up.
