Default Teaser Pics from GRD (Engine Build/Clutch/ST/ETC)!

Car is pretty much done @ Genesis Racing and Development in Naperville, IL (GRD). The experience has been great and I'm really looking forward to breakin in the new motor! GRD has been excellent with updates and communication and I can't believe it's getting done as fast as it is. I will probably pick up the car later this week...more pics and details later on! Goal right now is to MAX out the APS single turbo do its limit. Stage one is complete and after tuning, hopefully I can get the car to the low to middle 400's. Next spring (stage II), I will invest in a better EMS and fuel system, then.. let's see if we can get to 500rwhp or more... stay tuned!

a few teasers!!!

Looking forward to the finished product.

So does this shop do other installs as well? I have been looking for a good tuner shop in the Chicago area after coming from the domestic market.

I should have some interior pics in a few days for those who wanted to see the saga gauges installed.

For sure, GRD does quite a bit of work. They are known for tuning, but can pretty much do any kind of installs. Brakes/engine/exhaust/turbo kits/etc. They even do custom work (search for the custom GRD G35 gauge pod). You name it, they can do it.

Looks good, very clean work.

How much power do you expect to pull from the aps turbo? People have been saying it will run out of steam around 500whp. Do you expect to be able to pull much more than that out of it? I assume you're running some aggressive cams?

I'm also interested in seeing how it does.

Honestly, I really should have done cams with the engine out. Budget was being streched even with the sponsorship, but I'll see how far we go without upgrading the cams. My goal really is to be around 500rwhp and also be a daily driver (do have a '01 civic waiting in the wings though....lol). Hopefully I can get close to my goal with a good EMS and upgraded fuel return system.. looking to see results soon of ppl who have purchased the aps extreme fuel return system..

I think the unichip/aps fuel system should be good enough to max out that turbo, at least from what I've heard from other APS owners.

looks good, im looking forward to seeing the results as well.

should have gone with cams tho. i think thats gonna be what you need to break the 500 mark with this kit. i wouldnt waste my time, or money on the aps extreme fuel kit, there are far better things out there for much cheaper.

good luck.

Who told you that we finished our twin pump setup and its currently in testing, supposed to be a secret for now!?! (/spam) j/k, but for real it is actually done and in testing now

I think this car is a GRD and/or APS sponsored deal tho. So he will probably get it for its Home Depot wholesale value

How about some details on the internals/supporting mods you went with? Is that a Spec clutch? Did you go with a new flywheel as well?

That's cool, ... but the cost will be almost the same, ... right? I don't see how much cheaper the CJM kit could be over the APS EX kit and include all the same[=] parts...
In either case, it's Great to see more options available to everyone!!

I wouldnt worry much about the cams. 500rwhp will be CAKE for you, even on stock cams.

Spec 2+ clutch, resurfaced flywheel. Did my homework and test drove a few cars with this setup. Happy with the feel, and the clutch was within my tq goals.
