Default Latest pics of my engine

was hoping to start the engine up this weekend, but a few small details still need to be taken care of, so i am not sure if i will have time to get it done tomorrow or not. otherwise it will run sometime over the week.

i havent had AC for a while, so I moved the powersteering over there to make room. We are going to build some full 3" intakes to the turbos sometime in the next couple weeks, so i needed to make space for that. also just did a lot of basic cleaning up, getting rid of random stuff that I didnt need.

if the engine looks kinda bare, thats cause it is. there are a few pullies no longer there, etc. that is how it is now, the only thing not in the pics is the turbo piping. custom powersteering bracket, used tierods for tensiors, and took a bit of material off the motor mounts to clear the 3" intakes.

at this moment I am kinda mad cause i was setting my hood on the car and it slipped out of my hand and I put a terrible chip on the fender of my brand new paint job... (painted the car graphite gray pearl), blah... theres a couple hundred bucks down the drain im sure to repaint the fender. oh well. once its all running perfect and cherry, it needs to stay at a body shop for a week or two and get all perfected.

Looks good, but you may want to use another brand of oil filters

Yea...I'm sure he's going to need the extra 1/2 hp....

Lightened crank pullies are a waste of money for cars with as much power as phunk's is going to have. The only benefit is the "bling" factor.

While the standard Fram orange filters are cr@ppy oil filters, the Fram Tough Guard are pretty decent filters, actually better than the factory nissan filter.

hehe, thanks for caring about the oil filter guys! BTW that oil filter will be on the engine for about 10-15 min. After the first time I get the engine up to temp, I drain out all the oil and change the filter.

thanks guys! i was hoping you would find it interesting to see the PS moved over like that. its certainly much easier to work on, you wouldnt believe it.

Greddy guys, that clamp that goes on the passenger side turbo compressor outlet - its cake now, just reach right in where the PS pulley used to be

i might post more pics tonight... today we are gonna mod one of the Greddy IC pipes thats in front of the passenger fenderwell area to make room for the oil cooler over there... then the PS cooler is gonna go behind this vent I made on the drivers side (shorter lines like that now anyway since all the PS is on that side of the engine)

Yes... for now the one on my engine is a stock one that has been chopped up a ton and has another "Ear" welded onto it. after I cofirm that the offset and placement and angle is clean enough, we plan to take it off and use it for dimensions and make a billet one. I just need to see that I can rev to 8 grand without it chucking the belt off, then we can take care of some billet ones.
