Default Hits Rev Limiter @ 4500RPM

...More like a fuel cut maybe? Nothing changed on the car... just was driving it one day and now it won't rev past 4.5K in gear [In Neutral, no problems]. Car still has all the power it did before below 4500, but it feels JUST like the rev limiter at 7,000RPM.

Tuner says they haven't really run into this problem yet [very good reputable tuner] and it will take some time to get fixed. Anyone else out there have any ideas?

Procharger 7lbs

Yes, there are check engine lights.

2 TPS
1 knock
bank 1 lean
no cats
The two codes for the TPS went away a week later and the car seemed to drive better. Now its just the knock [0 counts, never detected anything, we thought it was a short or open], lean [26 counts, sometimes sp***es at cruise and get above 16a/f ratio, quick throttle tap and its gone - everything is perfect at WOT], and no cats [duh...]

VDC is off, and no slip lights.

Happens in every gear, no matter how much throttle.

Unless the tune just changed itself, nothing has been touched and the car has been babied alot lately.

They already checked ignition and timing signals, both check out. They checked the BOV because they say now it happens between 4000 - 5000 RPM based on when it hits 4lbs of boost.

just for fun, unhook your ecu from the harness, wait a few minutes, then reconnect and see if the issue persists..just curious, as i had a "slip" issue and after i disconnected and reconnected the ecu, it reset and havent had a problem since at 600+rwhp (UTEC)

maybe the Emanage is setup where it will cut fuel at a certain boost level. Are you over boosting?

Don't think its safe mode... it still has all the power and runs fine under 4500.

And like I said, the tune hasn't been messed with... it just started doing this one day. Its got the 7lbs pulley, and its never hit 7 on the gauge... usually around 6psi.

i say save your settings on the EU and then unplug everything for the nite and reinstall everything the next day and see if that will just disappear.

Said they found the problem and it was infact the stock BOV / bypass valve whatever that thing is... They replaced it with an aftermarket one that was welded on... they didn't say which one, I just wanted it fixed... Its supposed to be running just fine now... guess I'll see tomorrow when I gotta drive it 300miles!

Default Hits rev limiter at 2500

I'm having a similar problem and it just started today after coming out of Wally World. I have no turbo and hit the rev limiter at 2500. Fortunatly it has lots of low end grunt and I can get it to the dealer if I have to as its still under warranty. Maybe I'll try a reboot (disconnect battery cable). Any other ideas? Thanks guys!

Sounds like your MAF sensor is unplugged or malfunctioning....

Thanks anyway guys but a simple reboot (diconnect battry for 30 minutes) is all it took to fix my rev limiter problem. Don't know what caused the problem but the solution makes me think it was something computerized?????

I had a similar problem, when i run 100 octane it fixes the issue, i think my car is tuned to aggresivlely for 91 octane and the ECU is pulling timing, it even does it when i mix 91 and 100 half and half, unless its pure 100 octane it gives me this issue.
