Default Turbonetics HP Curve.... (when does it get funky)

The cams make peak power @ 6250 approx. As the boost is increased the maximum horespoer peaks earlier and then flattens out or starts to decrease before 6250rpm due to compressor efficiency issues. At what boost level does the curve start to suck?

It could be a combination of compressor and turbine losing efficiency. Are you referring to a built motor with the 60-1?

Sorry.... yeah to the above. I am thinking of going to a Greddy TT. My built motor is about to go in and I won't be happy with anything but a normal hp/tprque curve and less than 450 whp. I won't be happy with the peak HP at like 5250 rpm. I'm really hoping the Alphawerks headers and my exhaust will keep that from happening, but I'm not sure it will.

The car AAM tuned for Modified Mag was 14psi IIRC and the curve IMO sucked. Torque fellon its face @ 5000rpm's and hp flatlined around that. JET-you obviously know my opinion of this (but dont share it)

Do you think the headers and the exhaust I have will have some beneficial effect on this situation? Your secret is safe with me.

Mind sharing your spec on the built motor? I'm having my long block buid and head works. Also wondering if it worth it to throw another 2k for sleeves.

Anything over 550rwhp I would do sleeves. I didn't have sleeves installed.

I have.... .020 ovebore, Arias extreme duty 9:1 pistons, Eagle H-beam rods, stock crank, stock heads milled for true flat, and HKS head gaskets, and L-19 head studs. That should be good up to 550rwhp with no problems.

The over 550whp need to sleeved is just a theory though right? No one really finds out the limit yet?? There are many performing shops 350Z with 600whp + have no sleeve.

That's what I would have done. If I wanted 550 or more I would sleeve. But your statement is correct.

Just curious, how much did rebuilding cost you? Engine only?

I havent seen the high boost TN cars ever make power beyond 5500rpm...sometimes earlier. We've tried a few of them here. Still fun cars to drive, but they arent making power through the powerband.

Is it because the T60-1 max out?
