^ exactly. I really suggest people to test drive a Z with a light flywheel, and then decide if you can live with it.
good advice - I have a new JWT Al FW, I had a hard time finding this noise until I got out of the car, left it in N with the engine running (and of course clutch out) - when I put my head down by the ground, yes, I could hear it, but it is so minor I never heard it inside the car (the G Coupe in this case, which admittedly does have more soundproofing).
Flywheel is nice. Revs "differently", not sure how to describe it. Kind of like a squirrel on amphetamine-meth cocktail, goes up faster, drops faster, idle is for some reason at ~500 rpm now too.
Clutches can go as soon as 3K....depends on driving habits. If you need an aftermarket clutch for your soon to be installed Turbonetics kit, I would recommend the JWT combo. They have been very sucessful in handling the increased power of the Tnetics kit as well as retaining a stock feel. If you have any question or need help locating a clutch shoot me a call.
Noah, like the combo very much. Wish I had thought to replace the slave cylinder at the same time, weak I am guessing as it blew its seals almost right away (< 2 days) but I also had issues with clutch pedal return being weak for a long time, and in hot weather/city driving it stuck on the floor once or twice).
IMHO the slave cyl was probably already weak and just puked due to the stronger clutch. The old clutch was absolutely toast - nothing left, clearly had been hot as hell, bluing, you name it. Flywheel was toast too.
Oh well. Now I just have to wait for a new slave cyl. No one in CT carries the d*mn parts, has to come from NYC area.
