Yea, I am not quite sure, but so far I see everyone wants to do a complete pumpkin swap, as I have the ATS carbon LSD, I can't do that. I just want the 3.3 FD. I guess something will work out. --B

nismo diff cover didnt help me with boiling my diff fluid on occasion (stock fluid). i was out beating on the car for about a half-hour giving a few rides - i took the same route each time and at the end of the route i was doing a 180 full throttle and riding it out off the rev limiter and going thru the gears for dramatic effect. on the 3rd ride i gave, when i went to do the 180 i got the one-wheel-wonder and no oversteer. embarrassing. i could immediately smell the diff fluid also. the rides didnt have a whole lot of turning cause i was in the country area, mostly all high speed.

How much has the FD helped you Charles? Do you hook up in 2nd now?

My 3.3FD and Motul fluid goes in on Saturday morning-later Saturday I'll have a report, hopefully a few pics. I'll also be keeping my 3.5 pumpkin.

2nd gear is still worthless on the 295 35 18 Pzero Corsa R-compound... they do have a stiffer side wall then a drag radial, but still a sticky tire.

my alignment is too wack to compare tho, i really need to the camber taken out. I must say, i do enjoy the dramatic 2nd gear and sometimes 3rd gear burnouts when i am trying to show off. its a great way to get people to say "holy #@$#!!" But I guess that as much as I love it, I would rather hand my victims their *** a lot sooner in the race. Alignment coming soon.

Im at -2 degrees camber rear, is yours worse? In the summer on 285KDW2's it would almost get traction in 2nd, but surely in 3rd.

i cant recall where its at now, this alignment was done over 2 years ago. it was great before, but now with the built motor its too much. i am hoping that the camber is really bad so that I have more room for adjustment and improvement.

I remember your negative camber being really noticeable. Pulling it out with a good tire on the car makes a world of difference. So much more traction patch on the ground under hard accel in lower gears.

PS - When are you going to pick up this block? If you don't soon I'm going to sell it for scrap!

Im sure you meant lower numerically right?

Alberto, your camber is close to what mine is...not too bad.
I kept my 3.5 also in case I decide later to use that to build a custom lsd or something. I love how you waist very little time on making a move once the decision is made

yea i went from 573 to 541 (.944%) going from 3.5 to 3.3 (.943%) at the same boost. I at least assumed it was due to the gear since the only other changes I made to the setup should have actually made more power but apparently did not, and because the % difference matches.

Im sure the car still hauls some a$$ though. What is the pull like in 4th and 5th (especially toward redline) with these powerlevels and the 3.3? Do you regret it or like the change Charles?

I cant wait, tomorrow will be almost 50 degrees here (14 degrees now) so I should have decent traction with the 3.3 FD.

edit-below are max speeds on my street tires with the stock 3.5 FD at 6600rpm's (stock redline) and 7000rpm's (where I now usually shift), compared to the 3.3 FD and both those limiters.

3.5 FD
6600 rpm redline max speed in each gear : 40 65 93 119 151 191
7000 rpm redline max speed in each gear: 42 69 99 126 160 202

3.3 FD
6600 rpm redline max speed in each gear : 42 69 99 126 160 202
7000 rpm redline max speed in each gear : 45 73 105 133 169 215

Max speed at my 7300rpm redline (7400 rpm fuel cut):47 76 109 139 177 224

As you can see the 3.3FD @ stock redline is the same as a raised limiter with the 3.5 FD. And you can see the huge difference between stock redline and stock FD vs the 3.3 FD and my raised limiter. 139mph potential in 4th on the street will be nice

i cant decide how i feel about it. its nice at times, i notice the longer pull... but i definatly notice the car not pulling quite as hard but its still good. I had a guy in a Supra i was racing with ask me if im rev'ing to 9 grand cause he felt like i was never shifting.

Alberto, what tire size are you calculating them with? stock size?

with 295/35/18 tires, I come up with

3.538 FD
6600 rpms: 38 62 89 114 145 183
7000 rpms: 41 66 95 121 154 194
7300 rpms: 42 69 99 126 160 202

3.357 FD

6600 rpms: 40 66 94 120 153 192
7000 rpms: 43 70 100 127 162 204
7300 rpms: 43 73 104 133 169 213

i typically shift at 7 grand, of course it just depends at when i have a chance to look at the tach and then my best estimate at how much the RPM have climbed since i last looked.
