Default My #s on 10 pounds using a Dynomite Dyno

Hey guys just wanted to share my results since I haven’t done nothing lately to the car but still hadn’t dyno my new tune correctly. Last time the car was slipping on the dyno and couldn’t get the numbers out. I have wanted to dyno my car for about two weeks already and I decided to try and get a dyno day together well it happened but not as many showed up as expected. Well here are my numbers he told to calculate to the dyno jet in case anyone is wondering was a 16 to 18 percent he told me this dyno was really precise.

Dyno : Dynomite
Link http://www.dynomite.com/chassis-dyno/chassis-dyno.htm

390 RWHP SAE correction Calculated to dynojet is 452 RWHP

395 RWHP SAE correction Calculated to Dynojet is 458.2

My car

Other members car
full bolt on uteb tuned Z

turbonetics G35 with stock exhaust

Their were more cars but I couldnt get them.

Corrected numbers... ARRRRGH!

anyhow tailpipe sniffers usually read half a point to a full point leaner than a wideband further upstream would read, but even in that case 11.8 on 91 octane **** is a little to skinny for my taste.

No guys my car is tuned and my A/F gauge reads 11.3 to 11.7 all day i guess its the sniffer in the back that doesnt read it accurate.

jet pilot - thats what i think he made but this is with only turbonetics bolted on and thats it no other mods and also this dyno reads lower then the dynojet.

16-18 percent is WAY WAY too optimistic to approximate dynojet numbers

I'd think more around 10% or at least a ballpark 8-12% range

first things first. WTF is a dynomite dyno? some imposter brand?

2nd, Lodo, you can adjust the piping using those bolts holding it to the timing cover in order to stop it from rubbing your hood. And it looks like he's either running a different bov or just didn't put on the cone.

BTW, why did they start the dyno at 4500rpm?

ok i need someone to be generous enough to explain to me what air/fuel ratio is and why it is so important? i'm trying to learn....also, an aftermarket dyno produces lower numbers because it is power made to the wheels right? where as a stock dyno tells you the power made to the flywheel?

air/fuel ratio is exactly that, the ratio of air to fuel in the combustion process. a higher air/fuel ratio means a leaner mixture. In forced induction on the Z, it's very important to maintain a slightly rich air fuel ratio, along the lines of 11:1 or 11.5:1 for safety purposes to prevent detonation and have a safety padding level in there.

Stoichiometric, or perfect air/fuel is approximately 14.7:1 on gasoline engines.

Dynomite dyno is a AWD dyno. You wouldn't know about it cause typically RWD drive guys don't use them, but this place had one so it was used.

Too bad you can't see much below 4k Rpms...

If the turbonetics powered G only put down 315whp there is something wrong. Turbonetics cars with the bolt on kit and nothing else generally put down 350-370whp.

Craig,

Do you have a graph of your dyno runs?

315rwhp is in this dyno remember when we see the 350 to 370 dyno numbers its from dynojet this read lower they say its more accurate. I asked him what percentage to calculate the numbers to dyno jet and thats what he said i had never heard of this dyno so i have no idea. This dyno is actually worth 90k he said it had some type of correcting factor that was the one that reads real rwhp. I dont know why he started so high at 4k rpm.

Yeah, they're the same ones MIA posted up in another thread recently.

Dynojet runs @ Z Fever in Tampa

The green one is the first run, and the weird bump are the cold tires spinning on the rollers.

Video of 2nd run
