Default Vortech Installed and Tuned (Dyno Chart)

So I got my car back this weekend from Scott at Ballistic. Got it tuned Sat by Holyroller Dyno. I'm still waiting for my AFR, etc, but here are the power results. I don't want this to be another dyno comparison flame thread, so let's just leave it at this. I'm told by my tuner that he has gotten his dyna pack to read very close to a dyno jet. I will try to get a tune with another dyno soon just for comparison. 3.33 pulley, car stock.

I was gonna take pix of the blower but it's nothing no one hasn't seen before. Like everyone said, the car pulls, and keeps on pulling until redline. I have noticed, like everyone else, that I now need to shift at 6k rpm and the car goes into redline by about 2 bars and then shifts, and boy does it hurl you forward. Another thing is that I can't go WOT in auto anymore. The car doesn't know to shift and it just hits the limiter. Another thing I did notice, which I'm not sure if it's normal, is that the bov makes an almost air-horn noise above 5k rpm. I'm actually not sure if it's the bov or the belt, as I haven't really checked it out yet. I do have the rough idle, but it's not too bad, as long as the a/c isn't on

Just curious what did your numbers look like before the tune? Thanks

^^ The car wasn't dynoed before the tune because it was running super lean. I bought the kit used and the SS box was tuned differently. We didn't want to boost it until that was resolved. Later, I found out it was my wideband that was messed up and now it's frozen Will be getting it fixed this week.

It's okay. Pretty much like stock, which I like. I don't have to boost unless I want to. Although, you do start feeling it around 3k rpm. The thing is, the rpms go up like crazy in 1st and stay up when you shift to 2nd that you're at full boost in a heartbeat. I did notice my 3rd and 4th gear to be a big longer now too

K, Thanks. Great numbers BTW! Before being tuned, I got really crappy numbers with out tuning on my G 312whp. I already ordered the 3.12 pulley so no sense in paying for tuning twice as long as I drive out of boost....

Yeah, I saw some of your threads. If you're running on the rich side you should be okay, although too rich is bad too. Definitely get a tune!! I would also recommend bigger injectors with the 3.12. Although stock ones have proven to work, I wouldn't risk it. They'll be running at a very high duty cycle. I would also recommend a Walbro fuel pump.

Yeah Im running rich mostly in 4th, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd are not bad, at least Im not running lean though lol. But yeah, along with the 3.12 pulley, 380cc injectors will be going in, along with a Walbro 255, and then TUNED so I can drive her with confidence! Cant wait to see what it feels like after that...

Got a question for you guys. A friend of mine took his vortech G35 to get tuned. He is using the split second to tune. anyways he called me and said that his car was leaning out once he hit 6k. is this common with the vortech? He said they made it super rich and it still leaned out. I thought it was strange. We guessed it was the injectors but I think its a fuel pump problem. Any input?

A lot of tuners don't realize there is an auxiliary fuel pump. You have to make sure to turn on the fuel pump with the SS box. Mine goes on at 1k rpm and provides fuel as needed. I'm not really sure what could be the problem, as there is no reason for it to run lean once you add enough fuel and pull some timing.

I have a set of brand new denso 380cc injectors that I don't need if you're interested.

Glad to see your happy with my vortech. I hit 391 rwhp with the 3.12 pulley.

Did you change much in the tuning r4 software, because i was running mint with the maps the way i sent them to you.

I'm running the 3.33 pulley and actually, the tuner ended up loading the "new" Vortech map that turns on the fuel pump at 1k rpm (opposed to the old map which doesn't turn it on until 6k or so) because my af meter was reading reallllllly lean. It now turns out that my afr may have not been functioning properly as it is now frozen at 21 So he basically put the stock map and then added fuel, pulled timing, etc as he went along. One thing that sucks about the SS box is that it isn't real time

WHen you say old map i assume your NOT referring to the one i was running. I had the aux pump set to come on at 1000 rpm or 1 psi. I dont think my motor would have held up too well if it came on at 6000 rpm. My a/f was ALWAYS 11 ish, and 10 ish in the upper rpms.

Its always best to go to stock and tune from there anyways as my car may differ from yours.

As for my mods i had crawford cats, plenum spacer, 3.12 pulley, and stillen dual.

Thanks...haha...yeah, they did. I think Giles got really annoyed with me cause I kept bugging him with questions while he was tuning lol. Scott did the job in 3 days Of course, my AFR on my Zeitronix is frozen, but it's not his fault. He's going to fix it on Sat.

No, this was the very first map that blew a bunch of engines I'm not sure what map you had, but yeah, we went to stock and tuned from there. I think my tuner put like 20 miles on my car tuning it
