It doesnt look as bad, looks like its more cosmetic. Have it repaired and its time for a new nice aftermarket bumper.

I know you're worried about your car, and you may not have been through this before. I've been ripped by an insurance company before, so here's some free advice:
The insurance company will try to pay out as little money as possible. If that means using cheaper, aftermarket replica sheetmetal, they'll try. (Don't listen to anybody that tells you it's just as good. Consumer Reports did an analysis and the tolerances weren't the same.) If it means "fixing" instead of replacing your front bumper, they'll try.
Go to the most expensive, highest quality bodyshop you can find and tell them you don't want them to use anything but the best, new, factory parts. Spare no expense. Once you have the estimate in hand, make sure they alert you if your insurance companies adjuster tries to deviate from the estimate. They'll pull chit like trying to bondo a bumper cover instead of replacing it. You have a right to get it repaired to "pre-loss condition". Finally, when it's time to pick up your car, schedule it during bright daylight hours, and do a complete walk-around. Even though the bodyshop is paid by the insurance company, make sure they understand they're working for YOU, and you have high standards. If they tell you the adjuster is arguing with them, call the adjuster yourself. As a last resort, get an attorney that deals with insurance claims. The adjuster is trying to minimize the insurance companies loss, and the body shop is trying to maximize profit. If they can do it by getting into your wallet, they'll try.

Good Luck,

Bruce

Damage doesnt look too bad. Definately get it fixed...it is highly unlikely that the insurance will consider it totalled.

Unfortunately, he will have to check his insurance policy on that one. It is not necessarily the will of the customer as to whether he gets to choose what kind of parts are used to repair his vehicle.

To be honest it doesn't look that bad, could've been a LOT worse.

At the end of the day what counts is, the people involved walked away unharmed. Best of luck to you.

Happy birthday, listen man, my dad is into auto collision, trust me, it looks a WHOLE lot worse than it really is, I already inspected the pics, especially the last one that shows the real damage. Its bad, but not that bad, just make sure you get a good body shop to work on the, because of its design with the headlight/fender/bumper/hood its not the easiest car to work on, but a good body guy can fix it and you'll never tell. Keep us posted and get your head up, it could've been a lot worse.

good luck and you guys really don't need to give the guy ****. it WAS an accident. I'm sure he didn't mean to fishtail into his freinds car.

good luck, it'll pass. (and hopefully you know a bodyshop so you can get a cool bumper instead!)

The damage doesn't look too bad, just get an aftermarket bumper and fender. The door looks repairable.

Thats a minor bit of cosmetic repair get it fixed and be damn glad nobody was hurt, keep your racing to deserted streets or on the race track from now on its one thing to put your life in danger another entierly to put others in danger of loss of life..
Not trying to sound harsh but think how you would feel right now if you had killed your friend..

Maybe I'm just paranoid, but if I were you, I'd delete this thread. With EVERYONE on the net these days, you never know who's going to find out what you post... remember Mitsubishi tracking down EVO owners that posted races online so they could deny them warranty repairs?

the tires were dunlop 285/35/19's, i have some more bad news, my insurance just gave me the **** & ballz. They told me they will not pay to fix my car, and that i am an excluded driver on my 350z nissan, which i pay insurance every month on, and the car note. When i originaly got the car back in 03, i did a straw purchase, which is ILLEGAL, i just found out, for a dealership to sell me this car like that. Furthermore, i have 3 cars, but on my insurance i am "excluded" from driving my 350z (which i have been driving for 3 years) and my es330 lexus which i am on the title as the owner) the only car i am allowed to drive i was told is my 06 tahoe. I called my insurance and asked them hoe is this crap possible, especially with my lexus (its a gift i bought for my mom) They told me that she signed a paper 3 years ago, excluding me from driving these cars. WTF??? how can you exclude the owner from driving there own car? They also told me they will not cover my neighbors car. My neighbors insurance called me, and explained the exclusion, but then asked if i have a seperate policy, which i do, my tahoe is on that one. They said, i am insured and that my insurance should cover this, so hopefully i can at least fix my neighbors car.

Now comes my tears, they arent going to do anything about my car, i pay 620 a month plus 230.00 a month in insurance, notto mention the 20k in mods i have. Even if i fix it, i found out i can not drive it. I dont really know what is going on, this is the worst day of my life. The insurance is blaming my mother for this, saying that she did that to save money, now my mother is blaming the insurance, Me and my mother have never really been on good terms, its hard to say that about your mom, but i feel like i am getting screwed so hard, i pay for this womens car, mortgage, whatever. My dream car is now a tin can in my driveway.

I hate to say it, but i think this is it for my Z, if and when i do find out who is screwing me. Family or the insurance, if its the insurance i will hire a lawyer and do what i can do. If i found out my mother did some shady chit to my insurance, i am literally going to strip my Z down to the frame and sell every part, bolt...whatever you can think of. I still owe 15k on this car, and i swear if i find out my mother excluded me on my own car to save insurance money, im taking back my lexus and giving back her Z...actually giving her back a frame, which will ruin her credit!, yes its pretty chitty to have to do that, but i paid 37k for this car, added another 20k, this is about a 60k car to me, that i poured my heart into, for what...nothing...i cant believe this, all i can do now is pray, hopefully this is a test of my faith, like Job in the bible. If any of you guys pray...please keep me in your prayers, thats all i have left right now.
