With all these kits out now, I was just interested as to what kits were rated for what HP ranges. For example, the JWT TT kit is made for a more conservative boost based around the stock engine. So I guess what i'm trying to figure out is something like:

JWT TT
Capable of making - ????? HP

APS TT
Capable of making - ????? HP

Greddy TT
Capable of making - ????? HP

and so on and so on. I guess we can hypothetically throw in the idea of having a built engine. (This is not limited to TT's, ST can also be throw into the mix)

 

I'm not the authority on this ... but your question is a little too broad. You'd have to stipulate what boost (psi) level they're running @, the size of their fuel injectors, and a few other specifications I can't think of right now. Throwing in the idea of a built engine will complicate things as well.

 

Hmmmmmm i see, I guess I didn't take that into consideration. But I was just basing it on the turbo kit alone. Since if I were to shorten it down to psi level, size of injectors etc. etc. It would make things much more difficult since no 2 people run the exact setup. Hmmm lets see what others have to say.

I have the jwt kit my buddy has the greddy kit and rode in both i have seen the aps tt but ever rode in one before there all good set ups you cant go wrong with any but all are diffrent. my power is down low the gred is mid- high power and feels strong aps??? the JWT kit feels stock though but with a boost almost adding a v8 in or cars nothing crazy just real smooth power.

APS TT 550-600whp
JWT TT 500-550whp
APS TT Extreme: 700-750whp
PE TT: 525-500whp
Turbonetics Single T: 450whp
APS Single T: 450-475whp

As alluded to....this simply means that the turbocharger is capable of flowing a volume of air...that would produce these numbers. Doesnt mean you will actually achieve these numbers, without significant upgrades.

 

I thought there were a few people well over 600whp on regular (non-extreme) aps twin turbos.

 

Yes, I think the numbers he posted were fairly conservative for the APS and Greddy kits.

 

He was only talking about air flow capacity, not out of the box numbers.

 

I am refering to confirmed numbers at sea level. There are a couple higher dynos, but they are SAE corrected numbers at higher elevation, so the dyno is reading higher.

I was conservative with the numbers, becuase power output can change with mods, fuel, and tuning. In theory, the airflow power numbers I posted are pretty close...but individual tunes and installs can generate more or less power than I posted.

 

I hope I can make like 470whp on my TN kit, but I have alot of supporting mods. LOL IM just thinking positive, but im glad sharif gave us a close run down.

well being that no one has installed or dyno'ed the kit.. this is basically a rough estimation

 

You may also add the VRT/JWT 700BB TT kit, It puts 600-800whp down.

 

When do we get to see an independent dyno of that setup? I'd like to see what that setup puts down on something other than JWT's dyno.

 

It was at the Stillen meet and it put something like 6XX in low boost I believe.

I was more talking about the 800whp on a single fuel pump claim. Plenty of people have broken 600whp.

Since when do you dyno a 350Z in 6th gear? 5th gear is the proper dyno gear.

 

APS claim is 50lb/min worth of airflow, which is theoretically enough for 1000 crank hp, and roughly 800whp.

Only time will tell..so for now..I am being a little conservative with my estimate. I also hope everyone realizes that anything about 600-700whp (depending on the dyno used), is going to require race fuels.
