Default Replacing APS single turbo with diffrent turbo?

I have a APS single turbo on my z(WHICH WAS PURCHASED FROM VIVID RACING, TO WHOM I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH AGAIN) My question is this. The turbo was blown due to scavenger pump not working correctly because of bad wiring diagram sent from APS. I have had a difficult time talking with APS trying to get a replacement turbo and have been told from several dealers that i could purchase a similar turbo and replace the APS turbo with it. Has anyone heard of this being done or does anyone have a better solution. I have called Vivid racing numerous times to resolve the issue or even purchase a new turbo from the and i can not even get anyone to deal with me. I have been promised numerous times by sales associates and even managers that they would give me a call back. I have been getting the run around from vivid racing and just wanted to let everyone know what kind of business they are running. Dont deal with them, if you do prey that you have no issues cause they are sorry when it comes to customer service. They have lied numerous times.

I have heard nothing but Negative things about Vivid and will never do business with them... As far as aps goes good luck. My uni-chip or CAS wire just went out on my aps tt setup and I can't wait to see how aps handles that...

Give GRD a call, see if they can help you since they are one of the biggest (if not the largest) distributer of APS parts. (630)369-2800 You can also try PM'ing JoeDirtPharmD as he also had to go through buying individual parts after an accident.... not sure if that's the same username here, but I found his thread on 350zmotoring.

Just curious, why do you guys deal with the actual manufacturer themselves? Did you do your own install? If I have issues with something, I go to my installer and have them do the leg work.

+1

But also I had the exact same thing happen and for the same price turbochargers .com can rebuilt it with more efficient turbines.

uses an off-the-shelf GT3582R cartridge, as tigg and I found out.

If the turbo is blown, and APS won't recover through warranty, then you'll need to shell out $975 for a new cartridge.

I'm willing to bet, however, that the turbo is good and if you run it strong for a couple hundred miles you'll be fine - there was a significant amount of residual oil left in mine when I first installed the sucker (mis-wired the scav pump and was given a faulty check valve); after the repairs and ~200 mi. of driving, the smoking resolved.

I had sort of the same problem. When I got my turbo installed I had a lot of smoke due to a bad kit VIVID RACING sold me, it came without the upgraded solenoid...I went through japtrix to resolve the issue, got the solenoid, and now the car is running fine. I had some smoke for about 150 miles but it died off after that. good luck and I second DO NOT BUY FROM VIVID RACING, THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!
