If you can afford downtime, and/or having to build the motor (10K easy) then by all means live a little. If not, dont cross your fingers and hope nothing happens.

If you have the funds then I say boost. But what can go wrong will go wrong so be prepared for worst case scenario! I just got my turbo and I estimated everything to cost around 7k and im close to 9k now and my car still isn't running right! Hopefully you will have better luck then me.

Glad you liked the short ride.

My suggestion would be to ride/drive in as many setups as you can before you make your choice on which route to go.

you can boost at very safe levels... somethign that gives you around 340 whp... and then save up for a build motor.... cause if you go for a build motor right away, you will be in the 13k-15k..at least... done right and you are way up there closer to 20s

if you dont plan on going more than 400s nor with out a build engine... thne jsut supercharge your ride.... this setups are easy to install too

Going FI is still the single best mod, dollar for dollar and $$$ to peformance, available out there. These days the FI systems available out there are much safer than they used to be, especially the JWT/s.

I started with a supercharger in 2003 and presently replacing the sc for the JWT Twin turbos

Sweet car, nice power delivery, and sounds very nice to boot.
I'd say boost it.
And if you are not ready to just dive right in, do not, and I emphasize, DO NOT read back on the threads reading the horror stories.

Trust me, I know...

Or just bolt it on and use it. Worst case scenario, if the motor blows and you have no $$ for a rebuild, you could sell the kit (3500$ easy, then you can pick up a used VQ and put it in your car).
