Default Turbonetics Stage 1.5 & 2 Updates?

I know its been stated that more new will be released at SEMA on the GTK turbos...but if MIA or someone w/ turbonetics could post...when will the information about the Turbonetics Stage 1.5 and Stage 2 kits be released? I would really like to know more about it so I can make an educated decision on which route Im going to take for F/i....as well as many other people.

Can anyone give more info on things like release date for the kit, what the kit includes, what the powerband/TQ curve is going to look like(comparible to TT's?), upgrade path for stage 1 guys, price range for whole kit, and price range for people who already have stage 1 to upgrade...

Personally, Im looking to push around 450-550 (few different map settings) on a built engine...but at the same time I want something cost effecient, good reliability, great customer service...so if anyone could shed just alittle bit of light, that would be great. I really need to know whether or not I need to sell my Stage 1 TN kit and get a single, or keep it and get ready to upgrade to the Stage 2.

Sema is not even for another week. I'm sorry but as of right now I don't have any updates. The week of SEMA I should know more.

there are lots of us awaiting this news. The most exciting news is that they are supposed be making the stage 2 kit so that it takes full advantage of the normal powerband (and rpms) of the vq35

I wondering how large the inlet of the compressor is on the GTK turbo? I would assume it is something like a 4" opening........how are you going to get the intake tube through the front of the car???

Compressor inlet size will vary by compressor housing. Don't worry it'll all fit together just right...

There will be a seperate uprgade path/price for those with Stage 1 but I don't have the final info on that yet. Basically there will be

Stage 1 to Stage 2 upgrade kit
Stage 2 complete kit

ok, I really wanted to make sure there was definately going to be an upgrade path for us with stage 1....I understand everyone is waiting for SEMA to get more news, but I was wondering if MIA or anyone around TN knew what kind of powerband characteristics they were shooting for with the Stage II turbo. I didnt know if they were making this as a somewhat drag oriented turbo or for people who just want bigger numbers(dyno queens) or what not. Im shooting for a powerband similar of the TT kits out there...or something that is close to the stock curve. Nice low, mid range, and keeps pullin up top.

Well, I guess we'll just have to wait a few more weeks...Will they give us a release date for the Stage 2 kits a SEMA? I hope this can be a nice christmas present to myself

This is not going to be a dyno queen upgrade. The Stage 2 kit is meant to deliver higher horsepower for those with built motor and allow the customer to tune the curve for their needs. There will be an upgrade kit for those with Stage 1. I know that for sure. The price and timeline I just don't have right now. I should have something at SEMA.

HOw about for those that have a custom stage 1.5 already.. IE. TN tuner kit+fuel return+utec+injectors+pump. Will there be a stage2 upgrade package? That way we dont get charged for the unichip(for example) and some other stuff we already got.

Good questions!! I also have an upgraded fuel return system, UTEC, injectors, pump, oil pan spacer, etc..

Thanks Mia for the replies...I cant wait until SEMA. Get all the info you can, and take lots of pics

I wish I could go!

I think it is cool that Turbonetics would even consider a trade in upgrade program

Though one was so driven, that is why you can sell and then buy anew

yah... many of the current "custom stage 1.5" kits shoudl dissapear with turbonetic's real stage 1.5 kit, so this option to upgrade to stage 2 from current custom 1.5 should be at least for a bit until.

All I know right now is that there will be an upgrade kit. I don't have final details on a Stage 2 Tuner kit right now. That I believe is still being worked on.
