And your dyno reads "666", these turboed cars are posessed by Satan

No, there was no possible way to get these numbers without changing the gasket and making a few corrections. My guess is that the gasket has been compromised for a while, which probably resulted in the sub 400whp power level back when Bam Bam dynoed in Florida. When he arrived at the shop, coolant was spraying all over his engine bay and windshield.

Sharif - with Brent's setup, you came to the 666 with the F-Con (AMAZING WORK BTW). Is it feasible to say that a comparible setup can be had with the Turbo XS? Not saying as much WHP, but I've noticed that you're running 629whp@17.5psi (DD) from your sig. Just looking at whether or not my measly Turbo XS can make good numbers given a good build. Trying not to ditch my EMU right now...

Back on topic - Again Brent - absolutely amazing what you've done with your beast. Congrats to the new found power and miles of smiles that it's bound to bring.

Hey some may say it's a feature. Spraying coolant on your windshield is a good de-icer, because everyone knows how cold it gets in Florida ...

S1AMEZE, you have asked a really good question. Over the years, we've been able to adapt and work-around all of the various engine management systems out there. None of them were perfect, until we started using the FCON. We are distributors for both TurboXS, and HKS, so I dont really have a vested interest in supporting one vendor over another. The UTEC is still the best ECU in the sub $1000 range, and could certaintly power a car to 600whp+...which we demonstarted on my car. BUT, the FCON provides a much higher level of feedback and control, and will result in a much smoother and safer tune across the entire map. With a high boost car, and the UTEC, we are limited by resolution, so it becomes nearly impossible to get a perfectly clean tune at part throttle/high boost with the UTEC. Any super high powered car deservse the most sophisticated and fastest ECU on the market. There is a good market for both systems, but the FCON is definately your best bet, if total perfection is your goal.

The limitation of the FCON, is the lack of tuners on a national basis, but once you make the trip to an HKS Pro Dealer, you should not need a retune ever again.

I tuned Eaglegreen's care with the UTEC first, then we switch to the FCON. Stock block at around 450whp dyno dynamics on both systems. His first comment after his test drive was WOOOOWWWW: The engine was so smooth and crisp across the entire powerband. He said it was worth every penny.

MIAPLAYA,

I think I am pretty close to what you have in mind.

AEBS 4.3L stroker
GT42R single turbo (hoping to fit a GT47-80 eventually)
3.5" Downpipe/Midpipe with electronic cutout (note the turndown isn't installed in the picture)

1400+ CHP at 2X PSI. Lag would remain to be seen but with over 4L of displacement I don't think it can be too bad. For the twin guys that is.

For me, a nice GT-K single turbo (a very large one of course) and 700 is more then enough to make me smile

Yes you are... I don't know if I would stroke mine personally. I was looking at a 3.8 L overbore with a Rather large single turbo. Similar to what you have but Turbonetics GT-K of course Either way you have a VERY sick Z there.

I understand your Turbonetics loyalty. They are just too far away for us and we have had luck with Precision and Garrett turbos. Single turbo on a z is a PIA. Shoehorning a GT47 or a Turbonetics Y2K will be interesting.
