Dyno results ...
So, after all of my tuning efforts I decided to take it to a pro to get a final timing pass done on the dyno. And we have good and bad news ...
Good news first, it put down 511rwhp on a mustang at 15.5psi (the tuner did say that his dyno software has been updated to read closer to a dynojet).
Bad news, I'm totally running out of fuel flow, didn't matter how much fuel we added we couldn't get it to richen up between 4500->6500. Then at that boost level whe looked at the fuel pressure gauge I saw the follow, ~60 at idle, ~80 at full boost (yes I know these numbers are a little high) then as rpms rise, it falls back down to ~60 at red line ...
So I am currently guessing that the stock hardlines are restricting me, this is not an injector duty cycle issue ...
So, until I can upgrade to CJM's stage2 kit I'm gonna turn down the boost a little and not get on it very much. Although on the upside the car does drive really nicely under closed-loop fuelling

You have the CJM stage1 kit? I know thats very similar to the AAM stg1 kit and they dont run out of fuel at those boost/powerlevels-also through the stock hardlines. Why is base fuel so high, and why is fuel pressure decreasing with boost as you approach redline?

The fuel pressure is so high because I found that despite how much fuel I was adding up top I couldn't richen things up, Shariff suggested turning up the fuel pressure and that worked for the most part. A large problem is that I have no way of seeing the fuel pressure levels under WOT, full boost and full rpm range unless the car is on the dyno and this is the first time the car has seen the dyno.
If phunk wants to step in and give us his opinion then that would be awesome.
But until then I need to start saving my pennies ...

First off, congratulations on the power.
As for the fuel system, I suppose that it sounds aaabout right. Its hard for me to say for sure since I dont know exactly what your car would put down on a Dynojet... but I do know that GRD ran a car on their load dyno with our S1 kit and it also was starting to run out of fuel around that HP as well. I think he said he got 520 but while there the fuel pressure couldnt hold up top. He just turned down the boost on that car tho, rather then figuring out if there is more to it.
I will gladly set you up with the S2 parts for a deal. PM and I will get you my cell phone number since we havent got our new phone line posted up on our website since the office move last week.
However, there is one thing I think you should try first. Can you run an upgraded power and ground wire to your fuel pump? I have seen MANY MANY factory cars with pretty crummy wiring to the fuel pumps, and have built quite a few cars where I just upgraded the wiring and all of a sudden got a lot more from the stock pump. Perfect example was a Noble M400 I was upgrading a few months back - it was running out of fuel even tho it had a pretty badass pump from the factory. Changing the wiring and done... lean spots fixed and more HP readily available.
So perhaps you can run some high quality and decent gauge wire just as a free test? The downside is that it would involve you having the cut the power and ground wires right there by the pump to splice in the test wires, and then you would have to splice it back to stock if it didnt work for you.
The other reason I suggest this, is just because unless its a variance in dynos, different people are getting different results. Of course, that is what to expect when running anything near its capacity, but I would wonder if we are running our cars to about the capacity of the factory fuel pump wiring.
BTW, everything is in stock to upgrade to the S2. I PMd you my cell number, give me a call when you can and I can set you up with something.

How hard will it be for me to route a fuel pressure gauge into the cabin so that I can see it under driving conditions ?? Last thing I want to to waste $180 just to see that the wiring is not fixing anything ...
I will be updating to S2 at some point, I just need to go out and sell my **** a bit to raise the cash ....

hmm... if you went to a performance shop, you could rig something up with some fittings.. the depressing part is that you will spend probably 40-50 bucks just to do that!

i've got a cyberdyne digital.
It is amber lit (perfect factory match.) it has memeory recall for high and low psi.. It also has a programmable warning flash for low psi. It was just under $90 from summit, including the elctronic sender.

But for now, I'm just gonna have to be happy with whatever I'm putting down at 14.4psi, as there is enough fueling left that I can compensate from peak torque up for the falling fuel pressure.
I'm gonna dyno again at a dynoday on the 18th on a dynojet and see what that reads as at 14.4psi ... and then I'm gonna wait until the spring before I do anymore bigger power adjustments ...

Yea, the rain needs to take a break. Jeeze. I took a day off from work on Wed and it was actually nice and sunny in the morning so I decided to wash and wax my car. Of course as soon as I was finished the damn rain rolled in! I haven't driven my car in almost 2 weeks.
