Default 11.0 at 129.... greddy twin turbo Z

i posted this in the drag section but not many people look in there... hehehe

well guys, still a slipping clutch, i made three runs, time slips posted. i have some pics i will throw up tomorrow.

first two runs, the 11.0 at 127 and the 11.1 at 125 were both at 17 psi, the car pulls hard until 4th gear, then the top of 4th starts slipping and 5th gear just slips all the way to the rev limiter the second run was identical to the first run, i mean, look at the slips, its crazy BUT i ran 2.5 mph less cause the clutch was fried on the second run..

sooo i decided to turn the boost down to around 15.8 psi WOW fourth gear held all the way through and the top end pulled like crazy. i hit 129 mph, very happy with that. i actually held 4th gear all the way out. i figure that when its slipping at higher psi, i short shift not knowing cause i shift at the rev limiter. so when it wasnt slipping, actually pulled all the way.

also its about time to change my suspension, i had two launches where i lauched pretty hard, both 1.65 and 1.64, but the car launches then it rebounds and breaks loose. the ideal launch for best traction is to have the car squat about 1-2 inches. that way there is no harsh rebound like i had.

all in all, the car has A LOT more in it, i just have to get rid of the 6 speed cause i refuse to put a 3000 dollar clutch in and just go breaking the stock tranny. BTW this is still with the stock tranny and stock axles... they really are holding up well!!

thanks guys!!!!

i will throw some more pics up tomorrow...

Arent the trap speeds really low?? I know your clutch is slipping but wow. My friend said today, that his bro has a 911 turbo and he ran a 12.0 at 133. I mean he usually doesnt lie about stuff like that. Is it crazy to think that those trap speeds are really low???

Next time, make sure you get those timeslips into a nice, tightly wadded ball before you scan them.

Great job man. I hope you get your tranny slipping worked out. +1 on the TH400 swap.

Slipping clutch and running lower boost will cause that. Yeah, he'll be running much higher traps and lower et's when he gets the drivetrain issues solved. Then comes the nitrous. I'm looking forward to seeing this.

The TH400 tranny that he is planning to switch to has the same gear ratios as the GTO tranny. The final drive ratios are similar too (3.55 vs. 3.46) We have a guy on the LS1GTO.com that has made a 10.98 pass on a auto car with a magnusson blower and nitrous.

Now this car is: lighter, makes more power, has more rear wheelwell space, thus able to stuff more rubber in the back, all comparing the abovementioned GTO.

I am ready to bet that this one will break into singles.

This is what I am talking about, this is why I will remain on this board long after my Z is replaced by the GTO.

thanks guys, i havent jumped on a dyno, i dont really care about numbers from them, i have street and track tuned it.

to the guy that said the traps are low, that guy with the 133 was spinning for sure. you can run 10.5s with a 129 trap all day, now it becomes more of an issue of suspension and traction to get that power down

that was made at under 16 psi, hell, i hit 18.5 a few times on the street. soon as the tranny goes in, i will be hitting 22 -24 for sure.

just thought i would update of what was happening

thanks again

Great performance last night man. After seeing the third launch, I would definitely say add'l suspension work will make a big difference. The rebound looked pretty violent.

Nice numbers Jeremy....especially with a slipping clutch. Just goes to show you what these cars are capable of, with the right setup, and a good drag racer.

With your new trans, you'll be in the 10's all day long.

Wow. On your 15.8 psi run, you picked up almost 29mph in the last 1/8th. I can't wait to see what it'll do with an auto. Congrats.
