Just been pondering if this can be possibly true as a bunch of exhaust gases are getting dumped, and if so, which way does it affect the value, rich or lean??

it will effect AF readings. any kind of exhaust leak effects AF readings.

 

Atmo dump does not affect the AF reading. Only a small portion of exhaust gas is being diverted, and fresh air isnt being introduced into the exhaust system. I true leak, such as a hole, can affect your AF readings.

 

I agree.... no affect on AFR.
