Hmm it appears on the passenger side you are pulling coolant from the return coolant line to the radiator. Not sure if it really makes a difference but wouldn't you want to pull the cooler water from the radiator feed side?

the coolant is going to still be way cooler than the turbo temps - as you stated, it doesn't make any difference...

Yeah I figured as much. The bearing section is going to be in the 400-500 or more range and even hot coolant will be in the 205-215 range. If you don't mind me asking where is the coolant return plumbed in?

Doing well - happy thanksgiving...

Woke up early this morning and we got the motor/trans back into the car... Hopefully we'll finish up this weekend and start getting some miles on the car...

Here's a pic of the coolant returns...

Is the passenger side exhaust piping touching the driveshaft or is it just a really tight fit? Do you know how much the driveshaft weighs? Everything looks great.

Here you go - do you have a coolant fetish...? j/k

Crank Angle Sensor Wire Mod

There's probably a couple days work left before we get it started - and no, the exhaust doesn't touch the drive shaft... It's looks a lot closer in the pics than it actually is... The carbon drive shaft weights around 18 pounds - the stock one was around 40 pounds...

Phil, is that driveshift still an expensive one-off piece, or does that company have plans to make more. What a huge improvement over the stock G35 driveshaft.

I'm sure ACPT will be more than happy to make some more of them and I'm guessing they'll run around $1200 now that all the R&D has been completed... The weight reductions are significant, it's a single shaft vs the two piece stock unit and it offers some MAJOR safety benefits along with performance gains... I had a metal drive shaft failure at the track back in the day - it launch the car in the air and took me for a wild ride -flipped five times before smashing into the wall... I was lucky that I didn't get seriously hurt...

Here's a pic of the G35 Coupe stock unit for reference... The exhaust in the pic is the Borla - I still have it and the Borla headers if anyone is interested - PM me...
