Just spent the better part of an hour going through this thread.

I am totally amazed at what you guys can do with your Z's.

1) You have alot of time on your hands
2) You have alot of money burning holes in your pockets
3) You must be single
4) I love the Z passion

Thanks for letting us who dont have the time or money to see what this vehicle can really do.

Kudos.

-Did you install it yourself?

-How much do used kits go for?
-How do you like your kit?

I would be happy with 350whp...I assume the stage 4 can hit that?

thanks for your help.

you could definitely get more than 350 to the wheels out of a stillen but it wouldn't be the same 350 that a conservative turbo setup would offer

Not true, I have a TON of experience with the Stillen SC. It takes ALOT to get these SC to make more than 335ish to the wheels, the most I have seen on a stock motor is 348 and that is next to impossible to do.

So what did it take to hit 348 whp? stage 4, headers, exhaust etc....?

Question about the Stillen kit. What kind of torque does it put down below 3000rpm? 300rwtq? What about off idle torque?

Yes, it was a teal widebody Z from Texas I know that guy, his name is Brent. That was on a built motor with a whole host of mods (light weight rotating assembly, cams, etc.). On a stock VQ block and internals you would be hard pressed to get to 345whp ish (on a load based dyno)

I believe it took JWT S2 cams, was tuned with a JWT tunable SS box, slightly larger injectors, exhaust, and water /meth injection, and a custom 9psi pully (the Stillen SC kit uses an Eaton E62 blower and it looses eficiency at about 9psi). We have had as much as a 15psi pully made for this kit, but its peak eficiency is about 8.75psi on this little blower.

FYI, this roots style SC does not respond well to most mods (like headers, open exhaust, etc.) like most FI kits do. In some cases additional mods will net you a loss in TQ/PWR, so be carefull.

This Stillen SC kit is great for what it is, it just will not get you much more power than it already has (from stock stg, 2,3,4, etc.) so do not expect to make any power numbers to the wheels north of 345ish (or 410ish on a built motor)

With this kit you pretty much got what you got.

What about the Vortech Kit? Do they give you more power than the Stillen?

More power, as in whp? Yes. But I prefer the more usable power delivery of the roots/ twin screw (Stillen type) type SC's over the centrifigal SC any day, and I have had them both.
