boredom, frustration, and extra parts...lead to...
after working on the aps single boost issue for over a year, i finally decided to fabricate an external wastegate setup. especially after seeing aps solution, and price, no thanks. my setup cost me about 250 dollars, half of what aps charges, and i dont like their design. i was halfway done with this when i figured out the dual port wastegate quasi-solution and put this on the backburner, until now. i finally got it finished, well almost. this was the first time i have tried to weld anything, so i dont want to hear anything about how ugly the welds are
, some look good, but some look like ***. nothing my grinder and polisher wont buff out.
im gonna smooth it all down so you wont even be able to see em. its setup now to dump to atmosphere, but if its too loud ill make a pipe and put it back into the exhaust way downstream. it fits perfectly on the car, no clearance issues at all. onto the pics.

more, in pic #3 above, thats inside the downpipe to show the block off plate i made for the internal wastegate hole in the housing. i used 2mm thick stainless, cutout to match the flange exactly, then im gonna tack weld it to the housing to make sure it wont bow with pressure, but i dont think it will since its pretty thick. im gonna remove the swingvalve assembly when its all done. this isnt installed on the car yet. i had lots of extra parts from another kit sitting around the garage.

yeah everything clears perfectly, both 02 sensors and the WB. who knows if i will install it, now that the boost holds pretty good. i dont feel like taking everything off. maybe when i get bored, next weekend. i know that nobody will see the welds, but i cant stand doing something half-***, i want it to be perfect.

What APS solution, I didn't know there was one, where can find info about this?

Actually..... that might not work very well. The wastegates are mounted 90 degrees to the gas flow going into the turbine housing. That's why the Turbonetics kit had overboost problems. After all that work I really hope it works for you.
JET
JET
thats right dave.
that JET is my only concern, but the pipe is on a little bit of an angle, and since the pipe from the drivers bank comes in at such a higher angle, im hoping the gas coming from that side pushes the gases into the pipe. you should see the aps version, thats what they did, they came off the turbine housing at a perfect 90 degree angle, and then put the gases back into the exhaust about 6 inches downstream, at a 90 degree angle, which is the worst thing you could do. kinda defeats the purpose. thats why i went with open dump, for now.
but mine is at more of an angle, but thats the best i could do with the limited space down there.

Actually tig everything looks good my only concern being that you are only venting exhaust gas from one side of the motor with the setup like that. I don't think it will cause any issues its just odd to me. Good fab work though..
look closer mia, i took that into consideration, the pipe for the wg comes off the y-pipe after the 2 join. so both banks are involved. in the pic below you can see the outlet is after they join. this is looking into the y-pipe from the drivers side, you can see in the 2nd pic below, the red lines are the exact spot where the y-pipe tubing comes together.
