Default Greddy TT Problems

Well before people jump down my throat about searching, I already searched and read through about 20 pages of posts.

The problem I am having with my Greddy it is that the BOV has been mounted in the incorrect spot. After the MAF, which I know causes a lot of problems, however I was wondering what exactly the problems are, aside from a rough idle.

Some of the symptoms I seem to have is that I can hear a whistling sound when the BOV is trying to open up, and the car will stall when the RPM drop immediately, usually either when stopping. Another major problem comes when my car approaches boost. It seems to cut off at around 4000 RPM in 3rd and 4th gear and around 5000 RPM in 2nd gear. The car suddenly just bogs and feels as if I am slamming on the brakes. From the looks of my boost controller, I am never even reaching boost, aside from when I am in 5th gear.

Another question which is some what related is if anyone else is using Speed Density? I have asked a few and it seems no one else uses it.

It seems that you have issues with the install more than BOV

Since your loosing pressure after the MAF monitors the air esentialy your introducing a manifold leak every time your BOV hits. Not good. You will definately bog down and you will spike rich every time it hits because it thinks it has air volume A then adjust the fule for the volume. When the BOV hits the fuel stays the same but the air volume drops. This may cause it to stall and worst case you will start to wash you cylinders depending on the injectors and fuel flow.

My opinion, chalk this up to a learning experience, choke down the pride, fork out the cash, and get it fixed. Other wise every thing you do is putting a band-aid on an open artery. You feal good for trying to fix it but you never realy do.

Well the kit was installed by a shop. Punish_her, are you sure this would act or cause a manifold leak? I am asking this because the install was a bit more expensive because we thought there was a manifold leak on the driver side and the manifold was replanted. From how the car acts at this point I realize there is a boost leak but I attributed that to the BOV not closing.

Would driving the car in this shape harm it? I have 440cc injectors and a 324 fuel pump.

Do you think that once the BOV is fixed, it should be fine? I know I need a re tune, but aside from that.

yooo dude if your car cuts off at like 4000 rpms or so... sort of jolts forward... then your crank shaft sensor went bad... mine went out about a month ago...
i got a new one for like 50 bucks.. and it takes like 10 min to install....
and then it'll accelerate...

if the crankshaft sensor failed, he'd have problems starting the car or keeping it running.

your gonna get about 50 different answers, unless you have more details, i had my bov after the maf, before i had a fcon, and i never had a problem with it, but i have heard of some people having a problem, like the car dieing at idle.

Does it cut off while you are in boost? Or can you rev to 4k not in boost and it still cuts off?

just move it to the pipe tt connects to the exit side of the intercooler. It will only cost you about 40 bucks to relocate.
