MRC I have a question. Why does the utec have 2 rev limiters? Why does the soft limiter come in 300 rpms before the set limit? I'm not picking on txs, but I have a utec and I can't set the limit at 6600 I have to bump it up to 6900. To me that is not safe with a stock block and boost. Do you know if they are going to fix this?

The UTEC does read a bit ahed at times.I would call the place you bought it from for technical assistance.

Heck I called txs and they didn't have a answer for me only that it has a soft limiter first. So I figured you may know about this so I can fix it other than raise the limiter. Unfortunately, I don't live in NY any more or I would bring you the car.

Question UTEC Boost control

Some questions, I saw the TurboXS bc solenoid for sale at JSC speed, they also recommended the Perrin EBCS instead. Has anyone used the Perrin with the UTEC? Better, worse, the same?
Utec Solenoid $116:

Perrin Solenoid, $90:

I haven't ordered one but that is what Jermaine and the other guy told me at PRI.

Thye said TXS had dropped the price of the boost control solenoid to $89.

MRC - great info - thanks for sharing. I'm personally waiting on the new software gui before going w/ the UTEC - is it still slated for June or so?

I also applaud them for sharing this information, I've been looking for this. If I was a little closer, I would certainly pay them a visit. For information and learning purposes, would you be willing to share those maps and parameter files that you are using.

Thanks!

Guys, I appreciate the props..We just wish more people recognized the fact that were actually on the boards posting, not just price whoring products out online. When you buy from us, you get more than great pricing, remember..

Could you hook up a two BCS instead of just one. I see a lot of ones for sale that aren't 90.00 more like 20 and up that do the same thing so if I could fabricate a dual set up for 40.00 wouldn't that be better?? Just in case one fails??

I'm running two in my car with a custom controller. One will be open under normal circumstances allowing only low boost. Then, when I hit my 'high boost' switch it will close and work with the other solenoid to control boost.

I was never able to successfully control boost with UTEC using one solenoid. I thought it was because the solenoid oriface was too small, but it turns out that hopefully it was just a UTEC problem that was fixed with the lastest upgrade.

dont be cheap... its not like you are dropping 500 dollars man.. 90 dollars is already cheap for a BCS that works with the utec

I am not cheap, lol just wondering of there is a diffrence. I found some GM BCS for less so just asking. Now if there is something that makes the TXS ones better then by all means i'll buy it. A solenoid is pretty simple.
