mine is worse too when the recirculator is on, too.

yesterday, I didn't have any gas smell.....the sage continues.

also, go back and look at your return system connections. check all the fittings to see if there are any small leaks, and tighten them down.

who's return system do you have? AAM or CJM? the AAM has been mentioned to "sweat" gas vapors. teh CJM uses coated hoses and professionally crimped hose ends to eliminate vapor leaks.

I have the SGP Racing return fuel sys. It hasn't bothered me as much, but now that I know other people have the same problem I'd like to figure it out... Wonder why its so much worse with the AC? How would it get into the system?

mine has been good for the last 3 days now. I thik my recent issue was from when I changed my fuel pressure sednign unit and gas squirted out. It must have left a puddle in the valley of the black and was slowly burning off over the next week.

I don't think I would enjoy driving a car that made me smell like gas/oil fumes and burned my eyes..... maybe that's just me though... to each his own?

Boba, is your car running excessive rich? I know it was pretty rich at ZDAYZ, but that was before you did the return fuel system...I think.

Anyways, which RFS do you have? THe AAM's can smell a little bit. The CJM's do not.

I'm yet another guy that had test pipes and couldn't stand them b/c of the smell. Swapped the stock cats back on, and problem solved.

that sounds more like the o-ring where your fuel pump housing and tank mate up is not sealing. when you fill up, the fuel level in the tank is above the level of the the pump housing. if the o-ring isn't sealing, you get a leak.

Another thing to look at is the hole you have to drill through the pump housing for the fuel return fitting. That's another location for a potential leak.

i had the same problem with my tn g35. i didn't have cats and the smell would really bother me whenever i take the car out. needless to say i ended up selling it and getting a 911 carrera. i love my new car but at times i miss the sheer thrill of driving the g35, so think hard before you make a decision. maybe you can get a daily driver?

best mod I've done has been getting a daily driver to make my Z feel that much faster. Good to have a backup car anyway

If its the 0 ring it will be the 4th time I had to replace it. Sucks!

n e one with a stillen sc have this issue? i do at wot. i think ive narrowed mine down to the 7th injector. there is a block that saces the larger injector for the stage 4 kits and mine was too big we had to shave it down. ill change that out soon to see if it is that after all. since that injector only fires at higher throttle and boost loads cruising doesnt give u that smell since that injector isnt firing...

Okay. The shop fixed an enormous exhaust leak plus a few minor ones all dealing with the gaskets. Yet I jumped in the car all nice and clean and BAM there was the smell again. Even w/ the windows up and no AC on at all. Just a closed cabin...

WHAT GIVES?! Any other ideas? Can my exhaust be leaking through the rear hatch somehow? I smell like a f'ing snowplow

Hey bro. What shop installed the exhaust? What shop fixed the enormous exhaust leak and other leaks? Not that I can really remember cuz its been so long since I've had my car, but I vaguely remember a fuel smell to my car also, but i think that's common with the AAM RFS.
