Default Pressure stock block

Hi guys,

I just read a topic about crank pressure on a Z with FI. So the Z from 2006 has a pressure system on it to release the great amount of pressure when duty calls and the 2003 model doesn't have that? I need to have some extra info because the kit is being installed next week.

Thx

It is not so much the crank case pressure that one needs to worry about, but more the combustion chamber pressure that could be more destructive. The crank case already has a pressure release valve. And, the piston/rings do permit a safe amount of blow-by when the down force of the pistons build up pressure above crank case pressure tolerance.

I never had a blown engine, but my heads lifted 4 x with FI; the head gaskets were in fact the fail-safe mechanism that ultimately saved my block.

Are you saying since you heads lifted that it saved your motor by releaving pressure ? If that was the case then why would everyone on the board be so concerened with head lift if it will " save " the motor ? Not trying to be an a**hole just interested.
