Correct me if I'm wrong but here's what I've gathered from the thread:

-turbos generate more overall power
-power generated by a turbo and "turbo lag" are in no way correlated
-Superchargers are loud
-superchargers deliver power quicker than a turbo
-lag generated by a TT kit goes undetected
-turbos are good for drag racing
well you're pretty much on the right track
but quick blanket statements usually ignore the details

turbos generate more overall power
on a psi vs psi battle, or a peak hp vs peak hp battle, in and of itself yes that is correct

a turbo setup with 8-9 psi can brag they have 30-50 more tq at 4000 rpms, while I can brag I have 30-50 more tq at redline with a 12 psi overdriven vortech
is that an apples to apples comparison? I don't know, but at the end of the day that's what each camp runs just fine on the stock block as far as going to the reasonable edge of block safety

power generated by a turbo and "turbo lag" are in no way correlated

lag generated by a TT kit goes undetected
they both come with the territory. The lag will be more noticable in some cases than others, but generally isn't very bad especially with a TT

Superchargers are loud
as long as you know that when you put your foot on the gas on a turbo car, the exhaust sound is still going to be loud.
at WOT the exhaust sound of a SC can become pretty loud, but probably not as loud as a TT with test pipes and a 3 inch exhaust...
But yeah, turbos have no real additional sounds to listen to other than the stuttering chicken - I mean turbo BOV jk (except IMO the greddy BOV does sound fearsome)

superchargers deliver power quicker than a turbo
only the stillen SC, otherwise turbos will develope full boost first. If you're talking about lag, all the SC's are directly are linked to the crankshaft, but it's still more of a subtle thing since the turbo kits don't have tons of lag

turbos are good for drag racing
so is more displacement
but yeah turbos are more oriented for drag racing and have the edge there
some people don't like running turbos on road courses or autox though, depends on your preferences

actually for anyone who's dynos have been posted - do any of you know what a bone stock Z dynos at the dyno that you tuned at?

I think a relative comparison to your own stock car is a fairly worthy comparison because you can actually say you gained ___% more hp and ___% more tq over stock.
That % of increase can be somewhat compared with less room for error IMO

At the shop I use, the bone stock Z's dyno around 212 whp and 210 tq
so based on the dyno of my car with my belt slipping, I've gained about 98% more whp and 77% more tq than stock

so basically what you are saying is your car is making like 480 whp.. so that means you should be running low 11's easy

well...I did mention earlier that I think it might be making 470-480whp on a dynojet...I'm not sure yet, especially now that I'm making more boost than when the car was on the dyno getting tuned and I haven't been to a dynojet yet. I guess I should say that when I talked to Dynocomp, they say their typical bone stock Z is around 210-220whp

low 11's though? no way
it's not 480whp of big V8 muscle or a broad range of tq turbo setup reaching 480whp, hence my lower tq numbers

i don't know about 11's specifically though. I'm not the greatest at drag racing and I don't have slicks or drag radials.
I think my trap speeds would be semi decent though
