I never really liked the AEBS design. The Darton is superior in design, and to my knowledge, nobody has had issues with headgasket failure, that was caused by a defective or botched sleeve installation.

Phunk was one of the first people to sleeve his block, and he did the AEBS sleeves. I am not absolutely certain that his sleeve "sunk", but AEBS sleeves have had this problem on many occasions, so we stick with Darton all the time.

My sleeved block is an AEBS block. I had a headgasket problem that was probably a combination of the deck surface not being properly prepared (a poor decision on my part to run it anyway), and because I was on stock sized ARP studs with stock headgaskets.
I do not have head gasket issues any more, because I have 1/2" headstuds, HKS headgaskets, and a FACTORY SLEEVE block.
The block is going to GTM for pressure testing and other investigation, and if it passes tests then it will be sold or I will build it up again with parts I have laying around for another project car we are starting.
