Yup,
8000rpm, 3.3FD, 26in tire, 4th gear = 147.5mph
8000rpm, 3.5FD, 26in tire, 4th gear = 139.1mph
And that doesn't account for a tire expanding some at speed.

WTF??? Really?? The cruise won't stay on?? Why the hell not? I was just about to switch to a 3.3FD (really cheap on car-part), but if I can't use the cruise any more I don't think it's worth it, I'll just run a 28in tire at the track.

seems that anything less than 500rwhp and the car at least "feels" slower. Not quite enough tq to make up for the gear gain.
Yup. Apparently the ecu is looking at speed and rpm during CC, and with the 3.3 in a 6spd the speed and rpm are too far off for it to engage....works in 5th gear though.
I don't drive distances so doesn't bother me.

ATS/carbonetics said on their website at one point it doesn't work with anything but the 3.5 FD or at least that's how it was designed.
I think I remember Sharif saying his shop used a 3.9 FD with it and the installer said he'll never do one again because it was pretty difficult.

Based on my research, it appears that the Carbonetics uses clutches whereas the Quaife only uses gears. Does anyone know how this affects their respective performances?
Has anyone installed and/or used both the Quaife and Carbonetics rear ends that can provide some insight as to the differences between their respective performances?
FYI, I posted similar questions in AcidJake75's thread relating to installing the Quaife LSD in the DIY forum.

I found some information here on the differences between the Quaife and Carbonetics:

Based on this, I am leaning toward the Carbonetics - if I can get it with a final drive ratio somewhere in the range of 3.1-3.3.

alberto, did you find a 3.3fd with the whole pumpkin included or did you buy the pinon & gear and then buy another stock pumpkin to switch it out in?.....and if you did, how much did the stock pumpkin run you?
