Default Utec Map Sensor Needed??

I'm wondering if the optional map sensor would effect the car idling and even driving it not in boost?? After dropping my new built motor the car runs really rough and even though my a/f is around 14.5 it just insn't right. I have the aps tt setup w/650cc injectors with their fuel return system and I really don't know if the fuel pressure can be adjusted if that was the problem... I'm currently running the aps tt utec map off of turbo xs website..

Utec says the sensor is a must, because our cars maf sensor maxes out very easily, please dont try boosting without it !

You need the map sensor, the stock MAF maxes out at like 6psi of boost.

The map in your car is setup for a MAP sensor, so you wont be able to run the car without it, without changing the settings in the UTEC.

Yes, the car will not even idle correctly, if your UTEC is programmed for a map sensor, and you dont have one on your car.

Again thanks for the help Sharif but do you think it would cause the car to want to die when coming to a stop? I still can't believe the company I bought my Utec from failed to even inform me I needed a Map Sensor.. And I did mention to them that I had a TT setup...

To be honest, I am surprised your engine is running at all without a map sensor. I am sure the stalling is related to the settings inside the UTEC, and the lack of a MAP sensor. Nothing to worry about, once you get the MAP sensor and a tune. I suppose it could be some other issue, such as a vaccum leak, but it will be impossible to troubleshoot until you get the UTEC working correctly.

glad you finally got the map sensor on the way...this should remedy the problem...I agree with Sharif, shocking that the car even started without a map sensor, I was blown away when you said you weren't running one...

did you have this setup on your last engine? or are you new to the UTEC?

make sure the UTEC has the 2.8v software as well, if not, follow the instructions in the manual for updating the software, and go the the turboxs site to download
