Default Supercharger whine

Spring is coming and I've been shopping around for the right SC set-up, however I can't seem to understand why most advertise their S/C's as "Quiet, noiseless" operation. I want a whine. Not kenne-belle loud, or annoying. Is there any safe parts swap or maybe a different belt that will produce a distinct supercharger sound? Or heck, maybe a brand in particular that is noisy?

the stillen produces that whine/whistle when going WOT, but is otherwise dead silent

the vortech and ATI sound like jet engines at idle and when running. They both also have blow off valves that you hear between shifts

I hear HKS might have another supercharger kit coming out soon, but it'll be like $7000 and not as upgradeable as the vortech or ATI - not sure how it sounds though

Centrifugal blowers dont whine, they sound like jet turbines, basically you just hear a lot of air moving.

Oh, it's confusing when they say, "Vortech gear driven supercharger with SQ technology provides nearly silent operation and unmatched reliability"

Eaton sounds like a sewing machine on a cobalt ( one of my friends has one ) But the eaton m90 it seems is a easy swap on one from the m62 wich the stillen uses, im suprised no one has tried to put a m90 on the Z....

Not to get off topic, but pretty sure this has been tried by Stillen already without success. There's a thread out there somewhere with details on this.

Well it depends on the outlet of the supercharger there is a side outlet and a bottom one, for blowing directly underneath it. The case and size are the same. Its really only the rotors that are different. The m112 is completly diffrent than the m90 and and m62 the cobalt and civic ones are a m62. I do not see why its not possible to use a m90 on a 350z when they are the same size as a m62.

Can't answer your question, i'm only saying this has evidently already been looked into, as discussed in the thread below.

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....ight=eaton+m90

I seem to remember reading somewhere (can't find the thread), that Stillen had finally scrapped the idea of the M90?

There is nothing in that thread that discusses the sizing of the superchargers, there are lots of diffrent m90s from jags, mercedes, fords, chevy, olds, etc... What i am trying to say is that no one has tried to see if a diffrent one fits. You can buy a m90 for less than 300$ from ebay or a junkyard. Stillen is using carb approval not high hp numbers.
