just wondering where does the ticking sound come from? and what do u mean by thuds? I recently reinstalled my stock plenum and immediately caused a ticking sound from the lower right of my car which causes my fuel pressure gauge to move back and fourth with a rough idle.. but im guessing what I have is a leak from the plenum...i did however drive to my shop with the leak.. i couldn't have done that much damage though right?

 

this sucks but im in the same boat also. i havent drove my car because of the same issue. I have a video/sound clip and will post soon. I brought it to a shop and they said its bent valves due to high revs.

 

It doesn't sound like you bent a rod to me.

I found two golf ball size chunks of aluminum also in my engine... I think that was the piston after ti split in half lol.

 

I Guess this is the cause of the noise, i have the exact same noise and its exactly at or near the firewall of the car, i can notice it from the cabin, its on the back left (Passenger) side of the engine, and the sound for sure will go when i rev it past 1k rpm, i rev my car at near 7k rpm everytime i get into action and i do it maybe 10 times a day i guess this is the cause the hi revs, but the strage thing is !!!!! this sound came in after my last oil change does it mean i have a bad filter as you guys said ? or maybe low oil level ? gonna check the level and gonna change my oil/filter as well in the next few days, and let you guys know.

dude, seriously, try runnin a thinner oil, my buddys z was doin the exact same thing, he didnt have a warranty but had a friend at the dealer ship. they said it was a lifter ticking. just try it, its only 35-40$ and it might save you alot of hassle

 

I use Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 0W-40 is it better than Castrol 10W-60 ? which one of them suit my needs ?

I live in a Very Very Hot Country in Summer where the tempreature reachs 130 F and in summer it sits at 48-45 F this is the lowest record.

I Don`t understand these Oil Related Numbers what is the meaning of the number near the W and the number after the dash ?

What happened with this. Still say "a bent rod" doesn't go away after 10 minutes.

 

i have it too.... at idle just under 1k still under warranty. hope they do something about it. sound like a knock

I'm still checking.. but, the car is running like a champ with no issues.. So, I don't think I bend a rod... I think some pipe or hose shifted and vibrating against the engine or the body when it's cold... cross my fingers!!! I don't know.. I've already put the car on a lifter and checked everything underneath... I couldn't find any rubbing or shifted pipes. This is very strange... and I hope I never hear that noise again and I hope the noise is not coming from the inside of the engine... I'm just gonna have to wait it out.. and see if the sound comes back....
