Just a thought, but increased stroke and displacement may put the motor at higher fuel demand than the fuel system, or more specifically, the injectors were rated for? I know finding bigger injectors that physically fit, might be a challenge, but I definitely think it is doable and and easy fix for higher HP.

Either way, uppper 600's is an insane amount of power.

I would think that would be the case since that motor flows so much more air.

A while back I think phunk posted a place to get injectors similar to the aps ones that come with there regular kit. They may have larger ones that will fit the xtreme fuel system. I have to agree with zivman, with the increase in displacement and stroke the fuel system was designed for a built stock motor. I guess only time will tell.

Increased displacement doesn't make a 880cc injector a 660cc injector. APS over promised and under delivered on this fuel system. It shouldn't be a surprise. phunk has been saying that since the first one got shipped.

APS rates injectors at 4 bar, so at their rating, they are 880cc

And apparentely its ok for APS to use the non-industry standard rating for injectors to make their injectors and in the end fuel system sound more capable then it is? Does increasing displacement less then half a liter move a fuel systems max potential down 200 Crank HP? I don't think so but perhaps phunk could weigh in on that. It doesn't appear that phunks fuel system loses any max potential on a larger displacement motor.

Good **** brotha!!!! If I were to do it all over again, I'd have your exact setup, Sam and GTM is the only Z place to go on the west coast. Be carful I know you used to the PRIUS, drive the thing for a while at this power level and plan on getting a better fuel system later on for HUGE #'s. But 802 crank hp and 757 crank hp is crazy power.

just curious how you did your math

oem displacment = 3.5
stroker = 4.24
difference = .74 litres = 21.1% increase

As far as I am concerned >20% is pretty significant.

APS is fairly open about how they rate their injectors. US spec is 3.5 bar, while APS has rated their injectors at 4 bar since they brought us their original kit.

Argue with me until you are blue in the face if you like, but a larger set of injectors is all that is needed. To say the fuel system is a bust because it doesn't support what APS claims on a motor that is stroked and has over 20% more displacement doesn't give you much to stand on

A larger set of injectors will help somewhat. But one problem remains. APS uses a non adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Ideally, you should swap out to adjustable regs, and reduce fuel pressure to 45psi. Reduced fuel pressure means more fuel flow at high boost (fuel pressure and fuel flow are inversely proporational), and run a larger injector at a lower duty cycle.

The other issue I see, is the small return line opening. This will probably result in fuel pressure, that cannot be lowered sufficiently. Only time will tell. We'll be trying the APS fuel system on two APS Extreme cars with standard 3.5 bores. We'll advise if things are different in the non-stroker world.

Welcome back Alex. I'm glad that you made the right decision dispite the problems you've encountered with your motor. By the way, if you ever need us, you know who to call.... Can't wait to see your ride next weekend man.

My reference to displacement was above 3.8L which is almost standard for built motors these days. APS claims

Doesn't sound like it has ANY reserve capacity to accomodate anything other then APS tuning strategy. I sincerely hope you don't believe 14 PSI from a GT30xx turbo is "very high boost".

Thanks for all the kind words everyone.

Yes we have already discussed that the stroker may be the reason why we're maxing out the injectors, but with non-rising fuel pressure, it's hard to get even more out of the 660cc.

Anyways now that I've maxed out the injectors, my next goal is to max out these turbos...... It's not about what I can put down to the pavement anymore, as I know it's pretty much impossible with even 680rwhp. It's mostly about how far I can push the VQ now in regards to power.
